OotP, Snape's Worst Memory.
After the incident with Lily and Snivellus earlier, James sat, thouroughly depressed, on his bed. Sirius sat next to him, walking up and down, trying to find a way to cheer his best mate up.
He stopped, very suddenly. An idea had just struck him. Hard.
He grinned and looked down at James.
'What ?' James asked, 'Why are you grinning like that when I'm so depressed, sad and … and … '
'Lovesick.' Completed Remus as he came in through the door. 'Well, it's your own fault ! You shouldn't have hexed Snape in front of her !' He stopped, seeing James's suicidal expression.

Three days later.
'Why,' began Lily Evans for umpteenth time, 'would I come with you to the lake !'
'You'll see, you'll see !' said Sirius, walking as fast as he could while pulling a reluctant Lily behind him. Remus was hurrying to keep up while shooting apologectic looks at Lily.
They arrived at the lake : all was normal. Suddenly Lily stopped. A tentacal had just risen out of the water and … waved at her !
'Hang on a minute …' Lily was beginning to realise what was going on.
'Oh yes. When you say something to the Marauders, it gets done.' Sirius said proudly.
'I'd rather go out with the Giant Squid …' Lily said slowly. 'But SIRIUS ! I don't want… want to …'
'Well ! Tonight you can either have a date with Mr. G. Squid or my lttle Prongsie.'
'WHAAAT ?!' Squealed a quite hysteric Lily.
'Your choice.' Said Sirius firmly.
'I'll take James…' Lily said, rather faintly.
'Good. JAMES ! Come here !' James appeared out of nowhere and took Lily by the arm.
'Coming for a stroll with me ? And Madam Puddifoot's after.' James said, looking absolutly delighted.
And Lily looked like she was regretting her choice already.

The very next day.
'You know, it wasn't all that bad.' Lily said, sitting on her bed.
'I'm sure it was better than the Giant Squid.' Alice said consolingly.
A/N : Well what did you think ? I just thought Sirius would have done anything to get his back on poor Jamesie. And Lily should have watched what she said. Totally Random, but heck ...
