Virgil Vs Sephiroth
Virgil had Dante kneeling in front of him, blood pouring from his body, Virgil's sword sticking out of his chest. Virgil had finaly won.
"At last I have triumphed!" he mused. "Finally I will recieve the power of Sparda and become... a God!" He hovered in the air and ascended from the tower into the demon world.
All he had to do was take the sword and the whole world was his forever. He stepped forward.
The sword shined purple, reflecting the clouds of the demon world. It was the most beautiful sword he had ever seen.
His hand moved towards it but, instead of touching the cool metal of a blade, he touched the smooth leather of a gloved hand. He looked up.
Another man, covered in a cloud of magic was also after this sword. His long white hair was a contrast to his black leather jacket. His sword, a masamune, stretched out for nine feet.
"Stand aside," ordered the man, "and there is a chance that I will spare you."
"Who are you?" demanded Virgil. "What business could you possibly have with my father's sword?"
"My name? I come to kill you, take this sword and destroy everything and you worry about my name?" He drew his long sword. "You insult me. I will kill you for this sword then."
Virgil, too, took out his sword and took a quick sharp slash at the man's chest.
"It missed?" He frowned and slashed again. His sword just wasn't reaching him.
"Who are you?" he asked again.
"I am the son of Jenova, the last survivor of the Cetra. Sephiroth." Sephiroth smiled and disappeared. Before Virgil could analyse the name, Sephiroth's blade was thrust into his back.
Virgil stepped forward, off the blade and twirled round. His back healed instantly, leaving no traces of blood. This guy was fast. Even faster than Dante. Virgil, too, would have to speed up. He entered devil trigger mode and rushed forward.
His sword unleashed an array of slashes and stabs, not one of them hit the target.
Sephiroth laughed and jumped into the air. He raised his left arm forward and swung it left. A single wing grew from his back and spread out. He descended to the floor.
He walked towards demon Virgil.
"You're pathetic." he said. Within a nanosecond, four pillars of green flames rose from the floor, burning all around Sephiroth. When the pillars fell, Virgil was gone.
A single sword appeared in the sky, spining like crazy. It decended and sped after Sephiroth like a bullet. Sephiroth never even attempted to evade it, instead he rose his own sword to block it. The spinning sword circled around the masamune and slashed sephiroth's back. Virgil reapeared in normal form and caught the sword laughing.
Sephiroth rushed forward. Virgil aimed his sword but Sephiroth jumped over him, spun round and slammed down to the floor. Before any damage could be done, Virgil disappeared. Sephiroth, learning from his mistakes earlier, also disappeared.
Virgil reappeared behind where Sephiroth was standing and Sephiroth stabbed him in the back. Virgil dropped to his knees. Sephiroth raised his sword and took a big swing to Virgil's head. Virgil stabbed Sephiroth, the doppelganger disappeared in a cloud of black smoke.
Sephiroth's sword was thrust backwards into Virgil's chest. Both swords were withdrawn. Both masters died.
From out of nowhere, Marlene toddled over to the sword, picked it up and began an age of fear and destruction.
