Shadow of Her

He never thought about it that much. In fact, he had always been more concerned with other things. School, for example. Or the Shadows. Usually, Yosuke was happy, perfectly content with his life. He knew that Saki's death had changed him; he seemed a bit more mature as the days went on. However, when it all came to blows, he knew that, no matter how many girlfriends he got, he still loved Saki.

It wasn't a big issue, but every year, on march 28th, which he had learned from Yosuke himself it was Saki's birthday that day, he didn't come into school.

He just stayed home. And got really, really, really drunk.

He was pretty sure he knew it was bad. Hell, he was fine most days, but Saki's birthday was like a sacred holiday to him. Like Christmas. Almost.

So, imagine Yu's surprise when Yosuke actually came in on a day that was so sacred to him.

He looked like shit, too. Poor guy.

"Hey, guys…"

"Woah. Yosuke, what are you doing here? It's-"

"I know. Saki's birthday."

Yu decided to speak up. "Then shouldn't be at home getting drunk off your ass?"

"I would be. But Kaya won't let me."

Ah. That made sense. Kaya and Yosuke had been going out for about three months now. She transferred over from the U.S. She seem cool and very down to earth, but, as of late, she been a total control freak of everything Yosuke did.

"Oh. I get it."

"She said that I need to 'get over' what happened to Saki."

Like that was ever going to happen.

Yu was a very observant person. He knew that, deep down in his heart, Yosuke was still madly in love with Saki.
