Title: Traditions
Notes: This fic was written specifically for Terra Firma when I wanted to implement an idea I had seen in another fandom: a guess the author challenge. Obviously, the shortness of the story didn't really help (nobody guessed right), but it did trigger some fun GTA challenges.

Aeryn sighed. "John, this is ridiculous. You cannot honestly expect me to believe this to be an actual tradition on Earth."

"I'm telling you, people on Earth do this all the time."

"But this doesn't appear to have anything to do with what you told me earlier."

John shrugged. "Can't help it. I'm not exactly sure how this stuff links into the entire thing, but it's really how this holiday is celebrated."

Aeryn sighed again. "Fine, I'll play along." She did as John had explained to her and turned toward him. "Am I doing it correctly?"

John grinned broadly. "It's perfect."

Years later, John, Aeryn and little D have found their way back to Earth.

Olivia plopped down on the couch, together with Aeryn. They'd been attempting to get the two four-year old cousins to go to sleep. Olivia could still hardly believe not only her brother had returned, married to Aeryn, but that she'd gained a nephew.

After resting a while Olivia turned to Aeryn. "So, has John told you about Easter?"

Aeryn nodded. "Yes, though he wasn't entirely clear himself on the actual history. But he taught me about the eggs and the bunny." She proceeded to show her what John had taught her.

Olivia had trouble keeping her laughter in. "Aeryn, is that what John taught you?"

Aeryn nodded, but by now Olivia's response had made her wary. "Am I doing it incorrectly?"

Olivia shook her head and had to bite her lip to not really burst out laughing. "No, you're doing it exactly as you should, but this has nothing to do with Easter."

"It hasn't? But John told me this was the Easter-bunny hop."

"I bet he did." Olivia got up and whispered in Aeryn's ear.

Aeryn whirled around. "Crichton! You're a dead man!"
