Chapter One

Tris POV

I'm walking into the cafeteria to eat lunch with Will and Christina when Uriah comes up to us.

"Uh, Tris, can I talk to you?"

Okay… "Sure." I've liked Uriah ever since we played capture the flag, but I don't think he'd ever like me. I'd be lucky to have him as a friend.

"Tris, uh…I was wondering if you would wanna eat lunch with me today?" He says, cautiously.

Before I have the chance to reply Christina jumps in front of me.

"Like a date?" She says.

"If she wants it to be," he replies, his usual flirty smile back in place.

"She defini-"

"Wait, Christina! You can't Just d-"

"Go already!" she says pushing us forward. Uriah takes me over to an empty table we sit across from each other. He looks at me nervously , takes a deep breath and starts

"Tris I've liked you since you first jumped into the net and I was wondering if youwouldbemygirlfriend" he asks.

"ummmm sure I'd love to "I say as soon as the words are out of my mouth a smile lights up his face before he leans over the table and presses a sweet but, quick kiss to my lips and grabs my hand.

We walk away from the cafeteria he guides me up the stairs we end up on the roof the sky is black with star dotting the sky like the embers on the dauntless coals. He sits down on the edge of the roof with his feet hanging of the edge. he looks over at me smiles and says

"I didn't think you'd actually say yes , to being my girlfriend I mean look at you your gorgeous and your like a new dauntless prodigy and you could have any guy in the compound and and "

"Uri" I interrupt him

"Yeah"

"Shut up" and I lean over and kiss him and he wraps his arms around my waist and I wrap my arms around his neck . we kiss for what seems like hours, until the door opens and some body walks out.

Uri's POV

I walk over to where Tris, Cristina ,and Will are and ask tris

"Uh, Tris, can I talk to you?"

"Sure."

"Tris, uh…I was wondering if you would wanna eat lunch with me today?" I ask cautiously worried she'll say no because she is so out of my league and that's saying something coming from me, 'cause I'm so perfect.

But before she can answer Christina jumps in front of her.

"Like a date?" She says.

"If she wants it to be," I reply, my usual swagger back.

"She defini-"

"Wait, Christina! You can't Just d-"

"Go already!" she says pushing us forward. I take her over to an empty table we sit across from each other. I look at her nervously , before gathering my courage and starting

I walk her up to the roof we end up on the roof the I sit on the edge. he looks over at me smiles and says
