Every
night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know
you go on
Gregor stared at the picture.
How long had it been? Years, at least. And still no word. And yet,
every time he closed his eyes, she was there, dancing, laughing. She
was still alive, Gregor knew that. But he needed to see her.
Far
across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show
you go on
Gregor wondered if Hamnet had
had to go through this same ordeal. Of course he hadn't. He wasn't
the Warrior. No one depended on him to save their race. He simply
just up and vanished into the jungle without a trace. It had been
simple for him.
Near,
far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once
more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my
heart will go on and on
How could he ever
learn to deal with it? Luxa was his only true love, and he had no
idea how to accept the fact that they'd never see each other again.
Love
can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go
till were gone
Before he left, he had told
her that he'd never forget her, no matter what. As it turned out,
that was true. And now it was torturing him.
Love
was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life well
always go on
As the tears streamed down
his face and onto his seat, thoughts ran through Gregor's head. The
rats. King Gorger. Henry. The Bane. Twirltongue. The plague. Seeing
Ares, limp and dead as the Bane tore his body to pieces. He saw
Ripred, fighting for his sisters. And Luxa. The tears continued to
fall.
The van pulled away as Gregor left New York for a new life, a new land. Virginia. And he would never forget. "I love you Luxa," Gregor whispered.
Near,
far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once
more you open the door
And youre here in my heart
And my heart
will go on and on
Youre here, theres nothing I fear,
And I
know that my heart will go on
Well stay forever this way
You
are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
EPILOGUE
The picture fluttered in the wind, then was led in through an open
window. It landed on the soft carpet, unnoticed. Its rest was disturbed
by a person walking by, and the picture followed the breeze. It flew
into a grate and was retrieved by a young girl. She looked at it,
smiled, as the tears began to flow.
