First I want to say that italicized underlined words are narrations.
In the last episode of Luigi's Inter-Dimensional Adventure Luigi had just left his lazy love...er....brother to do something on his own for a change. He soon found a portal that sent him to the Battle Toad's dimension. He's met them and helped them kick some Rat/Pig ass. Introductions have been made and Luigi is learning that he's not in the Mushroom Kingdom anymore.

Prof. T. Bird!? What the he...?!
"Let's go see Prof. T. Bird, maybe he'll know what you're talking about," Zitz, the smartest of the three Battle Toads said.
"Yeah, and we'll get cake, too!" Pimple exclaimed.
"Err. yeah. You'll have to excuse him, he's not all there," The group's leader, Rash, whispered to their little friend.
"I like cake!" Lugi licked his lips. He was very excitable when it came to cake. "I want chocolate cake!"
"Oh great, two idiots," Rash thought. "Well, anyway, you and your bodacious self can come with us to see the Prof."
"OK, let's go."
"Right on! We get cake!" Pimple jumped up and down making the near by homes jump from their foundations.
At the Toad's apartment, Prof. T. Bird was looking over Luigi. "Well, it seems to me like you're from another dimension. Maybe there are other dimensional doors, in other places. If there are any more we must find them before The Dark Queen does."
"Yeah, you're right. But how do we find them?" Zitz asked.
"Leave that to me, the world's greatest scientist, Proffesor T. Bird!"
But unbeknownst to the Battle Toads, one of The Dark Queen's minions was listening in to their conversation and is now rushing off to tell its master.
