There once was a girl with a heavy heart. One day unable to bear her heavy heart no more she decided to sell it. The girl went to town in search of a buyer. She walked down street after street, shop after shop, but no one wanted the girls heart. In the shadow of the tallest building stood a man with an ivory cane. He watched the girl walking and with a flash of teeth and a tap of a cane the man beckoned her over. "I will buy your heart," whispered the man. He outstretched his hand and within his palm he held a small green bead. The girl looked at the bead and frowned, "What do I do with a green bead?" The mans eyes sparkled with delight, "This green bead will give you protection from the world. No longer shall you feel heavy with heart. Nothing will be able to touch you. You will be free." The girl's eyes grew big and slowly she pulled out her pulsing heart and surrendered it to the man. The man snatched the girl's heart and dropped the bead into her empty hand and disappeared chuckling into the shadows. The girl looked at the green bead and suddenly felt a coldness come over her. Shivering the girl left the town and wandered back to her home.

The road to her home was long and night had come quickly. Every step the girl took her blood grew colder and colder. When the girl had walked far enough to where she could see the light of her house a shadow passed over her. The girl looked up to see a faceless figure flying above her. The figure swooped down and stood in her path. Frozen in fear the girl watched as the figure came towards her. It shuffled toward her with outstretched arms. When the figure was an inch away from the girl it stopped. A mouth like hole appeared on its face and it grew bigger and bigger until figure resembled a black hole. The figure sucked the girl into its body with one large gulp. Inside the figures body the girl lived. She floated in darkness. A voice penetrated the darkness, "I take what is mine." The girl confused called back, "What is yours?"

"The bead! The bead is mine!" shouted the figure.
