Crash!
I jolted up in my bed. Boom! I jumped again and looked towards the window where the sound was coming from.
I saw a flash of lightning and relaxed. It's only a thunderstorm, I thought. I layed back down in my bed and tried to fall back asleep.
Boom!
There was a moment of silence after the thunder, but then my ears picked up on the sound of footsteps in the hall. Suddenly my door burst open and two bodies jumped into my bed with me.
I stiffened but realized it was only Angel and Gazzy.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"We were scared of the storm!" They replied together. I smiled.
It was hard to remember that they were still only little kids. I wrapped my arms around them and they snuggled closer to me.
"Well what am I supposed to do?" I asked them, grinning slightly.
"Sing us a song!" I laughed but agreed.

well now I am grown and these years have shown that rain's a part of how life goes but it's dark and it's late so I'll hold you and wait 'til your frightened eyes do close

everything's fine in the morning the rain'll be gone in the morning but I'll still be here in the morning
I heard their breathing deepen and soon they were asleep. I smiled, kissed their foreheads and relaxed into my bed, trying to fall asleep once more.
Fang PoV
I stood in the shadows of Max's room, right inside the door, listening to her voice. She sounded like an angel, it was so beautiful. Gosh I loved her so much.
She was so good with the kids. They looked up to her and saw her as their mother. It was amazing all that she had on her shoulders.
I watched as she kissed Angel's and Gazzy's foreheads and fell asleep. I smiled and quietly crept from her room.
