Hey! Time for a DW fanfic! River's perspective.
"SWEETIE?" I yelled, mildly annoyed. The Doctor was musing again over his old photos. He had taken down the ones of Rose, for my sake, but I knew he kept them somewhere. He came bustling down the steps, always uncoordinated, almost causing a regeneration when he tripped.
"I'm okay!" He called as he entered the room. I giggled, unable to retain anger as he soniced everything in sight. Always the paranoid man, he was. Besides. He had an excuse. Settling down had been hard for both of us, seeing as I knew things about his future he could never, and he knew about my past all the same. So, he checked to make sure no monsters lurked, feeding on our impossible break from reality. Our impossible, but lovely, break. "Now, what is it?"
"You left the banister undusted." I said, disregarding my earlier thought. "Isn't that dangerous?" I playfully mocked his earlier paranoia.
"Haha, very funny, now seriously, what?"
I paused, contemplating the correct phrasing. "I got a letter."
He paused "Oh? A letter? A letter? ... OHHHHHHHH A LETTER." He understood, as always, without my needing to say a word.
"It's from her, again."
"How is she managing that? Inter-reality travel... Shouldn't be possible. What did the letter say?"
"'Doctor-'" I read. "'Hello. I just wanted to um catch up... Wow, this is awkward... Well, um write back!'" His face had paled. "Sweetie, are you okay? It means nothing really. Come on-"
"He left her." He interrupted me. "The other me, he left her, or something, but it's causing her to run to me. Why? Why would she run to me? Well," He grinned slyly, "I guess there's only one way to find out." He ran to the TARDIS, without a look behind. If he had thought to though, he would have seen my moment of hesitation, of hurt, before following him.
Sorry its short, updating every week!
