Through Wind and Fire

Chapter One

Along time ago, there were two twins. Not just ordinary twins, but dragon twins. They were few but the twins were to be treasured, for their kind had never seen the like of twins before. Treasured and protected they were, the twins wanted more. They wanted to go out and fight, as was their nature, but they also wanted something precious to protect. Their names were Koikwatzu and Sheitomitsu, Koikwatzu was of the moon, while Sheitomitsu was of the sun. Like yin and yang they were different, the color of their scales to their indifferent emotions but one thing they had in common was their inability to sit idly everyday and have nothing to show for their own powers.

Koikwatzu decided one day he was going to finally leave the protective home and wanted his twin sister to come. Sheitomitsu was already following him, she could tell that her brother was ready to leave and so they did. Traveling from the demon realm into the realm of humans, strange little creatures to them but they did all they could to help any who came their way and asked of it. Finally they came across a burdened little village with no name, the people where struggling with day to day life, many where sick or dying. The twins decided to help the small village; becoming humans themselves and the villagers accepted them with open arms.

To the villagers the twins were a blessing from Kami and should be held in high regard all throughout their village and it was made so. They never refused to help, always curing the sick and easing the passing of one dying. They began to love the villagers and that's when one came to them. She was asking something that would forever change the small village.

She explained that her unborn child was dying in her womb and no one had been able to help her, the woman was in pain but she still pleaded with them every day while the twins discussed what they should do. Koikwatzu was stumped by the woman's request for help but Sheitomitsu had an idea. He refused her idea; they started fighting outright in front of the villagers one day. They had shed their human forms and battled as they would as dragons, that is until the woman clutched her stomach and screamed for help. She had started to miscarry and Sheitomitsu was there in a heartbeat. She wrapped her body and tail around the woman, a chant in their native tongue flowed all around as she lifted one massive claw and lightly touched the woman's forehead. A celestial light filled the whole area and only got brighter till nothing, Sheitomitsu was gone and the woman was left with a small circle in the middle of her forehead. Her pains where gone and the baby was kicking again, filled with new life.

Koikwatzu was struck with unexplainable pain from his sister being gone. His pain would not last forever though, soon after the woman's child was born, looking almost exactly like his sister whom she named the baby after, the woman was rapped and conceived another child. She came to him, infant in tow, asking for him to cleanse her body. She had felt dirty and was in pain again seeing as how she was pregnant only two months after having her first child. Koikwatzu wept for the woman and again the celestial light filled the area. The woman was joyous after this, and she took care of Sheitomitsu while waiting for Koikwatzu to be born. The villages though, was mourning the loss of their protectors but were happy for the woman; both her children had been saved thanks to their protectors. They all cared greatly for the children whom resembled them, that is, till the village was attacked.
