The one thing that came close to desire was water, the feel of it, the way it caresses you while you're swimming. It makes your heart pound and your body shiver, the urge to go faster until you are completely satisfied. The way it makes you tingle inside, you can't get enough. That was the first thing I felt desire in, that is until I met him.
The one thing that shared almost the same desire as me, to swim. The one person that knew how to challenge me and make me want to race. I became addicted to racing with him even though I only swim free. When he told me that he was leaving for Australia, I was disappointed, I wanted to swim with him. The one person that insisted that I had to swim the relay with him, the one person that could truly challenge me.
The complete opposite to me, emotional, competitive, the challenge in his eyes. The way that can evoke a response out of me, make me wanting more, like the day when we went back to the old swim club before it got demolished. The fact that he was there and challenged a race out of me but the water wasn't there so Nagisa and Makoto convinced me to trespass and swim in Samezuka's pool.
I needed the water like people needed life, the way I need Rin Matsuoka to swim with me. When Rin didn't get through and wasn't able to swim the relay, so I was looking for him. He said that he should have stayed quit. This made me have the urge to find him.I wrote "ForTheTeam" in the sand, in front of the tree that looked like the one at the school we went to.
I find him just there, by the tree. I shout to him and he gets angry, thinking that I was there to laugh at him for not making it but I just wanted him to swim with me. We got into a fight that lands with me on the ground with him on top of me. He notices what I wrote in the ground. I look up at him, feeling wetness on my cheek, he is crying. I don't know what to do so I just look at him. This is when I realise it. He was the one that made me feel like I was swimming free.
My eyes widen and slowly starts speaking my thoughts out loud, the first time voicing my feelings. Rin moves closer to me and before I knew it, he was kissing me. I kiss him back with as much passion that he has. I hear a gasp from nearby. I know we had been caught in this moment.
He climbs off me and helps me up as our friends come over, surprised at what they saw. "Hey Haru-chan, looks like you found Rin-san, let's all swim the relay together, Rei said it's a good idea so let's go" Nagisa speaks enthusiastically. I find myself nodding and grabbing Rin's hand. Rin agrees so we head to the pool. We finally get to swim a relay together and I feel my heart pounding in my chest.
This time I told Rin that I would show him a sight that he had never seen before and I was right, once he helped me out the water, my heart was still pounding in my chest. We were disqualified but I didn't care as long as I had him.
