Note: I am not Stephenie Meyer, nor do I own Twilight or any characters pertaining to it.
This is about a lazy morning Edward and Bella spend together as newlyweds. ;)
Hope you like it!
"What are you reading, love?"
Edward's voice floated towards me with the slowness of a dream sequence. I stretched slowly, hearing the expectant 'pops' of my arms and knuckles. Feeling renewed, I reclaimed my familiar position of lying across Edward's torso, my head resting on his shoulder.
I turned my tattered copy of Pride and Prejudice to the side, hiding it from his view, but to no avail. He grabbed my wrist, pulling the book nearer to him, so that it was in view...
He groaned. "Pride and prejudice, again?" Then, before I could think, he flipped us over so quickly that it took me a second to realize my new - though welcome - position, lying directly underneath him.
He grinned mischievously.
He lowered his head, his breath - now at a comfortable temperature, like my own - at my ear.
"I swear, if I catch you reading that book again, I can't make any guarantees about what I'll do to stop you."
"And what would that be?" I smiled into his shoulder, and my lips made a circuit from underneath his jaw to his neck.
"You'll be subjected to receive due punishment." He growled playfully.
"A punishment?" I asked, feigning surprise. I had caught the key word. "What kind did you have in mind?"
"Mmmm," He breathed, kissing the skin under my ear. "We'll have to see about that."
At that, of course, I had to kiss him, and in seconds, the only sounds other than our quickened breathing were the tossing of our clothes onto the wooden floor beneath us. The bed creaked in protest under us, though we couldn't have cared less in the few, precious moments we spent together.
As for the book? It lay on the floor, where I had dropped it moments earlier.
I would find time to read later.
As usual, please leave reviews.
They make me happy. :)
