You Can Trust Me

"I don't know guys! I think that Rat King is bad news!" Mikey growled.

"I know; I feel the same way, but shouldn't we give him a chance?" Donnie asked.

"Speak for yourself! I'm not trusting that guy!" Raph huffed.

"I wouldn't trust him if my life depended on it!" April added.

"Well, we must remember that he is in love with our sister," Leo said softly. They all sat in silence until they heard footsteps; they turned and saw him walk in after his date with Angela. The turtles were noticeably uncomfortable and they tried to ignore him.

"Listen to me; I know you all feel uncomfortable with me, but I want you all to trust me," he said softly. They all looked at each other and then turned away from him.

"Will you all please at least look at me?" He tried again.

"We don't trust you! You kidnapped me once and I don't think you are to be trusted now!" April huffed.

"April…will you at least listen to me…?"

"No! It's impossible for anyone to change that fast!"

"Nothing is impossible," he responded calmly.

"Well, believe what you like but I…AH!" She gasped as he picked her up and threw her over his shoulder.

"HE'S GOT APRIL!" Leo gasped.

"GET HIM!" Raph growled.

"Guys, stop!" Angela commanded as she used her telekinesis to restrain them all.

"LET US GO!" Mikey gasped.

"SHE'S ON HIS SIDE NOW!" Donnie gasped.

"Now all of you remain calm; I am not on anyone's side. I only want you to give him a chance. If he hurts April you all can get him and me if you wish; if he doesn't you all will learn to trust him. Ok?" She smiled. The turtles all looked at each other and then nodded to her.

Meanwhile, the Rat King took April into the darker parts of the sewer.

"PUT ME DOWN! LET ME GO!"

"Remain calm, April…I mean you no harm," he said as he laid her down on the ground and pinned her under him. She tried to turn away, but he wouldn't let her go.

"Shhhh…," he cooed.

"W-Why are you doing this?"

"Because I want you to learn to trust me. I have changed and now that I am going to be part of the family, I want you all to be comfortable around me," he smiled as he playfully let his claws run down her stomach.

"S-Stop it!" She giggled.

"Will you trust me then?" He chuckled. They both didn't know that Angela led the turtles to where they were and they were watching silently. The turtles could only smile and watch the cute scene.

"Y-Yes! But only if you trust us and take your hood off," she smiled.

"B-But…"

"Ah, ah, ah, no buts. If we trust you, we want you to trust us."

"But my face…it's not…normal…"

"None of us are normal, Victor…," Leo said as he walked out in the open.

"We won't laugh at ya…"

"Yeah, come on bro…trust us…," Mikey smiled. With a great sigh, Victor took his hood off. He expected perhaps a snicker or a laugh, but he heard nothing.

"W-why do you not laugh?"

"Because you're family now…we don't laugh at family," Angela said softly.

"And there is nothing to laugh about; we are all mutants…," Donnie said softly.

"I-I thank you all for your support and love; I have never been a part of a real family," he said softly. At that moment, the turtles pounced on him and hugged him and April gave him a kiss on the cheek. Angela could only watch in happiness; they had finally accepted her love.

"Well, you're a part of one now, dude!" Mikey smiled.

"Yeah, welcome to the family!" Raph smiled.

"And you'll always be part of us too!" April added.
