Kurama sat on his bed in his room, reading in silence. Even Hiei, who was sitting in his usual spot near the window, was perfectly content in the peacefulness surrounding them. They hadn't spoken for quite some time, which was odd to Kurama, even if Hiei was the only other person to converse with. Kurama was starting to feel the need for someone to talk, just the slightest noise, anything that would break the silence that was starting to become unnerving. He just wasn't prepared for the topic that would come up.

"Why do women shave their legs?" Hiei sat up, with the same blank look he always had plastered to his face; he hadn't even moved.

Kurama jerked his head up, cocking his head up from his book, "What!"

"You heard me, now answer."

"Um, why on Earth would you want to know something like that?" Kurama sat up, closing his book and setting it aside.

"That didn't sound like an answer, and as you remind me ever so often: it's grammatically incorrect to answer a question with a question. " Hiei finally gave a look his way, giving a slight nod of insistence toward Kurama.

"Well, I don't know; I guess because they don't want hair on their legs. A lot of male athletes shave their body hair to make them more aerodynamic, but I'm not sure about women." Kurama shrugged

"Is that why you shave your legs?" At this, Kurama probably would've choked on anything if something had been in his mouth.

"Hiei, I don't shave my legs, you just can't see the hair because it's not dark. "

"Yeah, whatever, don't tell the truth, see if I care. " Hiei shrugged his indifference.

"I don't know whether I should be insulted or weirded out that you notice the hair on my legs." Kurama sat back down and covered his legs with a blanket where his shorts stopped.

"If a guy shaves his legs, does that mean he's a girl?"

"You're unbelievable. You know that, right? Freaking unbelievable." Kurama turned on his heel and just walked out of the room, leaving Hiei in silence once more. Later on, when Kurama thought back; he was sure Hiei had pulled that little episode just to see if it would make him leave; it worked.

Night: Just something I thought of when I got out of the shower. A little side ficlet
