Sorry I haven't written for a while. I have been busy with job interviews and home study courses. Thank you to everyone who has read and reviewed my previous fiction.
This is what I would like Phil Hunter's last episode to be. Please read and review.
D.I. Mason came up behind Phil and Stuart as they were making their way into CID.
"You two I have the results of your applications to join the Special Crimes Unit" said D.I. Mason.
Stuart stood there with a massive smug smile on his face. "I told I would beat you Hunter," whispered Stuart to Phil.
"Phil congratulations you start with Special Crimes on Monday" said D.I. Mason as he shook Phil's hand.
Stuart's smile disappeared and as D.I. Mason and Phil walked off he scowled.
Stuarts POV
How could that bastard beat me? I'm so much better than him. He won't be bothered about the cases he will be too busy chasing women in skirts as usual. It should have been me.
Phil's POV
I never thought I would get this job but now that I have I am really excited but unhappy at the same time. I'm going to be leaving the one woman I truly love. Maybe it is for the best that I do go but how am I going to tell her?
Phil saw Sam entering her office; he took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"Come in," answered Sam as she was sorting out some paperwork.
"Hey Sam have you got a minute"? Asked Phil quietly.
"Sure Phil, what's the matter"? Asked Sam as she looked at Phil anxiously.
" I have been accepted for the Special Crimes Unit, I start on Monday," replied Phil.
"Congratulations I'm really happy for you Phil I know we have had our problems in the past but I am genuinely pleased for you" said Sam and she gave Phil a hug.
"Thanks Sam that means a lot to me, I was worried that you didn't want me to go", replied Phil playfully.
"Yeah right this is what you have been waiting for", replied Sam and they laughed.
A few minutes later Phil left Sam's office.
Sam's POV
I can't believe that he is leaving. I still love him even though I was the one who ended our relationship and now it's too late.
A few hours later Phil was busy saying goodbye to his friends as well as colleagues in the reception area.
"You not coming down to say bye to Phil then Sam", asked Jack as he passed Sam's office.
"I'm not good with goodbyes Guv", replied Sam.
" You will only regret it," said Jack.
Sam looked up and replied "you're right Guv". Sam grabbed her jacket then made her way to the reception with Jack following behind.
When Sam reached the reception desk she saw Phil just about to get into his car and she rushed out.
"Phil wait"! Shouted Sam.
Phil turned around and they hugged.
"I thought you weren't going to show up", said Phil.
" I couldn't let you go without saying goodbye," replied Sam.
"I'm really going to miss you, promise me you will keep in touch," asked Phil as he was getting choked up.
"I promise", replied Sam and a single tear trickled down her face.
Phil gave Sam a kiss on her tear stained cheek, got into his car and drove off, taking one last glance of Sam.
