"You," Void paused at the look on young Toshiki's face. "You're not planning to leave this battle alive, are you?" It was a question but it wasn't. Its tone was certain as a crazed smiled graced its lips.

"My my, I never thought you to be this selfish, Toshiki-kun~"

"W-what," the boy grunted from across It, choking on the miasmic atmosphere It created. "What are you-"

Void lunged at his neck, shadowy wisps wrapping around the brunet and lifting him off the ground.

"Self-sacrifice is total bullshit, Toshiki-kun~"

Little Toshiki grasped desperately at the tendrils blocking his airways, face getting bluer by the second and Void was absolutely enthralled by the short gasps tumbling out of his mouth.

"Self-sacrifice is a coward's way out," It told him, as if chastising a child. (But what was Toshiki-kun, but a child in a warrior's clothing-?) Its grip tightened and Void found young Toshiki's pained face delightful.

"You believe your sins will be repented the moment you die," It cooed at the boy. "That your death will put at ease the myriad of people you've done wrong. How cute."

Young Toshiki writhed in his grasp. A futile effort but it was almost adorable to see him try. It let up a bit on his choking hold, little Toshiki taking the chance to release himself from Its grip.

Void took it all in stride and with a grin. It would be a shame if Its toy died this early.

It wasn't even done playing with him yet.

Toshiki scrambled to get up and run, run, run-

Anywhere, just away-

"Self-sacrifice is selfish~ Really, Toshiki-kun, hogging all that unbloomed talent to yourself. You naughty, naughty child."

Just as he was about to reach the exit, something grabbed him by his ankle and dragged him back to that- that-!

No! No, no, no-!

"Toshiki-kun still has so much potential afterall~!"
