"What would happen if..." Peter began, slipping his hand into Steve's and doubling his pace to keep up with his father. "If a...rabbit fought a...a sheep?"
Steve stared in bewilderment at his young son, happily skipping along beside him.
"Well um, that's a... well I don't think. Um it's not really a question that I...Rabbits or sheep aren't really know for fighting" He stammered "Um...Well I suppose the sheep because it's bigger...could probably stand on it"
"What about if...if a sheep fought a hundred rabbits?" Peter began jumping into the puddles left from the rain water.
"Um, well... what'd you think?" The super solider began to panic, he was the parent and he really should know the answers to his son's questions. Or at least be able to make up some plausible answers.
"The rabbits because they could...they could nibble the sheep to death" The boy jumped into a rather large puddle, sending the muddy water everywhere, including the legs of Steve's pants.
"Right"
"What would happen if..."
"Four hundred rabbits fought sixty sheep, an anteater and a Taranousauras Rex" A low slick voice asked behind them as a pair of arms wrapped around Peter and lifted him up into the air.
"The sheep, 'cause they've got a dinosaur on their team" he said, wrapping his childish arms round Tony's neck.
"Hey little guy!" He gave him a hug before smiling apologetically at Steve. "Got held up in the labs"
The super solider smiled back as Peter was lowered to the floor, linking both his hands with his parents. As the family made their way down the street, jumping into every puddle along the way.
"You know when you die?" Peter asked, stamping his shoes onto the ground as they made their way towards Stark Tower. Steve gulped, expecting the first of their son's first existential questions.
"Yeah?" Tony asked tentatively, sharing a worried look with his husband.
"When you get buried. In the ground"
Both parents nodded carefully.
"Will a fox come and dig you up like they did with my hamster?"
