Chapter 1: Momoko's revelation

All along the residential district of Konoha lights were off. All that is except one, and it belonged to one Haruno residence.

Sheets were rustled pillows were thrown and sighs were heaved, all in the name of one redheaded girl, named Momoko Haruno. Presently this girl was sitting on her disarrayed bed.

"Argh!" she thought, "It's only the genin exams tomorrow why am I worrying so much. After this I'll still have the jonin and chunin exams to worry about, and they're more important!"

But worry she did. In fact she was worrying so much that her hair, which was normally in two ponytails on each side of her head, was tangled severely and extremely messed up from running her hands through it in frustration. She couldn't calm her nerves as tomorrow was such an important day for hopeful academy students, for it was the day they would finally be split into teams of three and assigned a personal teacher. But that, of course, was only if they managed to pass the exams.

The tests weren't that hard. All you had to do was show a sufficient intelligence, chakra control, and taijutsu ability. But even so, many an academy student spent the night before worrying and losing sleep, which affected the performance the next day, which was what Momoko was doing.

The girl sighed, closed her forest green eyes and brought her knees up to her chest to hug them, hoping to find comfort in that familiar pose. But even that didn't help this stressing night.

"I bet those two idiots are going to laugh so hard tomorrow if I fail, or at least Minato might," she mumbled dejectedly. Suddenly as though hit by a rock a thought struck her. And that thought took all the stress away. "Hey! If I fail I may never see those two idiots Minato and Daisuke, again!" She couldn't help but smile at that, if it meant that she would never see those idiots again, failing might actually be worthwhile, not that she would intentionally fail of course.

With that happy thought in her head she got up remade her bed and slipped under the covers into a blissful dream of a life without the idiot and the bastard.
