Christmas Love

It was Christmas Day, and the sleigh was coming in for landing.

Rudolph was leading, proudly lighting up the dusk with his shining red nose as the sleigh landed safely in the beautiful sheets of snow.

The people and reindeer cheered for the rookie and the other fliers. But Rudolph wasn't focused on the compliments. He was looking for Zoey.

The love of his life was nowhere to be seen amongst the huge crowd. But before the celebration, Rudolph decided to look for her.

He went to her house and knocked on the door; it was unlocked. As he stepped in, he saw the beautiful doe in front of the fire, crying.

"Zoey?" Rudolph asked.

Zoey turned around to see the concerned buck. A smile came upon her face.

"Oh, Rudolph!" she cried, dashing over and hugged him tightly.

"I missed you, too," he said, "but why are you crying?"

The doe looked up with tears running down her face. "It's Arrow. He was spreading lies about you and me. He said he would kill us both and then he left-" And then she broke into tears.

Rudolph held her tight. "That idiot!" he snarled. "He won't hurt anyone."

She looked up at him. "Rudolph, I really care about you."

Rudolph smiled. "I love you."

Zoey's expression turned to shock. "Y-you do?"

"You're the doe of my dreams. I've loved you and I always will."

Zoey smiled again. "I love you too."

Rudolph was overwhelmed with joy that his nose glowed again.

"Will you be my doefriend?" he asked.

"I'd love to." she replied.

"Come on," he said, grinning, "let's go to the Christmas party."

When they arrived at the party, more people were there. There was Leonard the Polar Bear, Slyly the Artic Fox, and even Stormella.

When everyone laid their eyes on the new couple, though, everything went quiet. There was suppressed whispering amongst the crowd. Rudolph felt terrible.

But then the crowd burst into cheers, making the two smile widely.

"Congratulations, lil' buddy," Leonard said, giving Rudolph a pat on the back, "I figured you'd ask her sooner or later."

Slyly playfully punched Rudolph in the shoulder. "I knew ya had it in ya, Red." he said in his New Jersey accent. "Oh, and by the way...," he leaned in close to Rudolph's ear. "She's cute."

Rudolph blushed again. "Slyly!" he exclaimed.

The fox laughed.

The couple danced. Neither of them had been more happy.

"Rudolph, look." Zoey said, "Mistletoe."

Rudolph looked, and sure enough, there was.

"You have to kiss me."

Everyone else heard this.

"Kiss kiss kiss. Kiss kiss kiss." they cheered on.

There was rhythmic clapping and hoof beats.

Rudolph leaned in.

"Kiss Kiss Kiss."

And kissed Zoey on her lips for the first time.

Everyone cheered.

Rudolph's parents were happy, Leonard smiled, Slyly whooped, and Stormella cheered.

When they broke apart, Rudolph's nose shined with joy.

"Well, it was worth the wait." Zoey said.

"Yes. Yes it was." Rudolph smiled.

(No one knows what happened to Arrow. He didn't kill Rudolph or Zoey like he said. He just dropped out of sight. So Rudolph and Zoey lived together forever)
