This was inspired by NightxBlossom's story "The Troubled Artist." It follows the same time period, actually. I was watching videos on youtube and thought this might be fun/depressing to write… so here it is.

"Axel… how do you kill a Nobody?" Namine clutched her pencils tightly, turning her knuckles white. Axel leaned back on his chair, looking at her with his head turned to the side. He noted the sketchbook on the floor next to her, firmly shut, and the light tear trails running down her face.

"What, you thinkin' about killing someone, Namine?" He stood up and walked over to where she sat, kneeling down to pick up her sketchbook.

"Please don't touch that!" she whispered, grabbing it away from him so fast that he didn't react. Namine clung to it, holding it tight against her chest. Tears began to fall again, and she rocked back and forth gently.

"…" Axel retreated back to his own chair and sat down again with a sigh. "I'm not telling you how to kill yourself."

"Can't you do that much for me? I know… why… he died." Sobs wracked Namine's body as she opened her sketchbook and tears fell down on to the creamy page. She ran her fingers over the steel blue colors of his hair, the dark blue eye covered by strands of hair, and the elegant shape of his face.

"You wouldn't be with him. Nobodies simply fade away." Axel realized what she was talking about now. Him. Axel had ordered his death not an hour ago, and yet here Axel sat, looking at this girl. This girl who was drowning in pain and love for someone who couldn't love her back, not anymore.

"I don't care! I don't want to be here any longer…" Namine looked up and smiled at Axel. Her pencil was still in her hand, tip sharpened, and she gave him a slight wave. Pressing her finger to the tip, making sure it would work, she smiled slightly wider before plunging it into her chest.

Axel stared at her for a second, then ripped the pencil out of her hand. What a stupid girl, to try and end her existance. He nearly slapped her to wipe the smile from her face, but threw a potion at her instead. "Don't be stupid."

Namine sat up too quickly and collapsed again, staring blankly at Axel's back. "But I am stupid." Crawling over to her sketchbook and picking it up again, she cradled it in her arms and curled up on the floor.

Axel spun around when he no longer heard anything, and looked down at a sleeping Namine. He turned his back on her again, and walked straight out the door. It didn't matter. She'd be just a memory soon.

Ack, bad ending for the FAIL.
