Howl Of The Gathered

Part One

Orochimaru smirked as he slammed his glowing fingers into the stomach of one, Naruto Uzumaki, effectively blocking the boy from using the demonic Chakra of the Kyuubi no Kitsune. Said blonde let out a scream of agony as the red chakra receded forcefully within him and back to the seal that marred his existence. Tossing Naruto effortlessly aside he moved in on his intended pray, chuckling maliciously at his own cruel joke.

Sakura watched helplessly as her friend and teammate slowly fell from the treetops, screwing her bright green eyes shut as if she was the one in pain herself, waiting for the inevitable thud. She was distracted however by the heat of a fireball flying right by her head, singeing the tips of her pink hair. Gasping at the intense heat she was forced to open her eyes, just in time to see a kunai flying right at her and getting closer with every second.

Swallowing a shocked scream she leapt out of the way, mustering all the strength and speed within her to avoid the dangerous piece of metal as it flew right through the space where her head was but a second earlier and embedded itself deeply into the moss covered tree trunk with a small thud. Landing numbly on a branch she collapsed to her knees as she was forced to come to terms with just how close she had come to her imminent death.

Gulping as she regained the feeling in her legs she turned to survey her crush with worried green eyes, only to shout out in horror as the fangs of the man that had already killed one of her teammates sunk into the soft, pale skin of Sasuke's neck. The yell that followed sent a chill through her spine and made her clamp her hands over her abused ears. She watched in blatant terror as Sasuke fell back to the branch below in unconsciousness, the pale man disappeared the only sign to show he had ever been there was his whisper.

"Soon, Sasuke-kun. Soon." Sakura shuddered and quickly moved to help her teammate, lifting him onto her back with only minor trouble and inwardly thanking the gods that he was so light. As she landed softly on the ground below she briefly scanned the area for any signs of Naruto. The only thing that she found however was a blood stained patch of grass and the charred remains of an orange jacket.

She bowed her head in sadness, whispering a small prayer for the lost soul as she ran off again with tears streaming from her eyes, promising herself to become stronger. For Naruto.

Somewhere far, far away a pair of glowing purple eyes opened once more with a gasp.

She was back.
