Moving

I sit back in my seat and let out a long sigh. I roll down my window, my auburn hair ruffling. My dad looks at me and smiles, "C'mon Avery, smile!" he says and turns on the radio.

'Tennis Court' by Lorde was on. The song reminded me of my friends and grandmamma. I roll my eyes and look out the window and see a farm with chickens and cows and a few horses I rode before.

We were moving to New York to Tennessee because my dad got a promotion from his boss. My dad thought it was a good idea to make friends while we are there, but I said I already have friends but thanks for his advice. I asked why I couldn't stay with my grandmamma Sheridan. He said that it's because she decided she wanted to go to an Old Folks' place called, A Loving Home.

"But we have so many memories here!" I cried. This was true, I was born here and lived here for my entire life. My mother even died here, 4 years ago when I was 12 now I am 16 and my grandfather died when I was 4.

I had a lot of memories to keep in my mind and heart. I never mentioned it but I remember I didn't go to school for an entire two months. I also remember my teachers giving me a lot of homework. It was the absolute worse! Anyways, back to reality. 1 hour later we were on a plane heading towards NY. I did the same like I did in the car, I looked out the window.

Instead of a beautiful field filled with wild flowers, there were gorgeous white clouds floating on the side of the plane. I guess it was as much beautiful but not the same. It made me feel even sadder. My parents always took me to the park and we would watch the clouds for hours. We would name them by their sizes and shapes.

I sighed and smiled at the thought, I spied a big fluffy pure white one right next to me. It looked like a bunny! I giggled and rested my head on the chair. 22 hours later I spotted a small town behind the dusty clouds. With buildings and apartments. I never saw that much only in books but never in Tennessee because my town, Corgeville was so small.

Some clouds moved and a big bridge with another city replaced them. I gasped at the sight. We got off the plane and the first thing I did was go to the window which was in the front. My nose hit the window and I fell down, "Oof!" my dad looked at me and shook his head.
