"Kieran, you shit!"

- Was what Naomi should have said when he tried to kiss her. But she was too fucked up and he had misread her signals. It was a fucking awkward moment and she hadn't stayed to see his reaction. But it had brought her closer to Emily, and so...

"Kieran, you shit!"

She said it now as Kieran, having pretended to forget Gina's birthday, presented both mother and daughter with plane tickets to Ireland.

"Ryanair, mind," he said with an apologetic smile which turned into a husky laugh as Gina ran into his arms.

"Oh, come here you hopeless romantic!"

Naomi watched as her mum and Kieran embraced. Why did the older generation make falling in love look so fucking easy?

Then Kieran fished in his pocket. Handing a crumpled piece of paper to Naomi, he said, "By the way. Room for one more. Got anyone in mind?"

Naomi took the extra plane ticket from his hand and screamed out loud.

"Kieran! You SHIT!"

And that was it. The secret to love.
