Decadence
By Any Unborn Child
The tangibility of blood was all too consuming for Kaname.
His exterior, his façade spoke of an individual who was detached, aloof, gracious when warranted, and fervent beyond measure. He vowed to never let himself lose control of his thirst, especially when dealing with a fool such as Zero – he who too often let his thirst take control of his entire body, using Yuuki to fulfill the emptiness inside.
Kaname originally had vowed never to expose Yuuki to such a hunger-driven, lust-filled fate.
He hid this concern for some time, before Yuuki had delved deeper to the integrity of the purebloods. He was pretty good at it too.
This did extend to his comrades, his "followers" so to speak. If they were to get out of line, the most it took was one icy glare and they would cease their actions. Sometimes they did not heed his warnings – this moreoreless came from Hanabusa Aidou. For him, it took a slap at the face to straighten him out.
Some people never learn from the consequences.
His first taste of the scarlet elixir was the one that ultimately changed him – no more was he the naïve little boy he was years ago. He now had the dignity of a pureblood, legions at his beck and call – no one dared defy him.
It was not really defiance as much as a change that led him to one conclusion however.
When he was in the midst of bloodlust, he did what he had to for the urges to stop – he could easily take one of those pills to satisfy his thirst, if only for a little while. But, oddly enough, there were times when he did not want to. There were times when he wanted to be in control of his one body, to do anything that he could want and no one would be able to stop him. He wanted his thirst to be quenched thoroughly. He wanted to relish in the delicious high that he would find himself entranced under.
If anything, he wanted to be the one who could feed from the delicious lifeblood of a human…of Yuuki in particular.
Which is why Kaname had to do something about Zero…whatever it took to finally break him, to finally satisfy his own decadence.
