Song of the Lost

Though you'll never hear this tale

Sung of tainted nightingales

Fear not, what you cannot see

The deepest danger lies with me

Blood that falls like crimson rain

Carries torment, sorrow, pain

In my arms you'll pass unscathed

While I be, in tempest bathed

An angel that has twisted wings

On and on the tainted sings

A dirge of love and laughter lost

A tune for bitter hatred's frost

Upon my heart these crystals settle

And through it cold, does stain the mettle

But pity not this blinded fool

Darkness now shall overrule

That which love, once did light

Despair will leave eternal blight

Now I see within in love's wake

Smoldered dreams, and smiles fake

Cured from obsession's craze

I'm lost forever in a timeless maze

For ever more the specter wings

On and on the tainted sings

Fruitless wander through the void

All hope in me now destroyed

Let this melody bring me down

Until in grief, I finally drown

I loved once, a rose that stings

On and on, you hear the song

Deepest night and through the dawn

Of revenge on darkest angel wings

Forever the blighted nightingale sings
