Title: Frozen Hope
Rating: "T" because I'm paranoid
Warning: Boy X Boy Fluff
Summary: A RoChu story. Yao goes to visit Ivan, but when he doesn't get there on time Ivan goes to look for him.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Yao pulled his thin coat closer around his slim body as it started to snow. The road to Ivan's house was always long, but when the snow started to come down it always seemed longer. The last time he had been out when it had been snowing like this he had been with Ivan, and then it hadn't seemed so cold. He shivered. It's so cold, aru. I can barely feel my legs. After walking a little farther he came to a large tree. Maybe if I rest for a bit... He sighed as he sat down, tucking his lower face into his coat. After a bit he dozed off.
Ivan sat staring at the fire in his fireplace waiting for Yao. He's late. After a while he donned on his big over coat, and slipped out his front door, and locking it behind him. After walking a ways he came to the large tree, he looked around then saw Yao slumped beneath it. Horrified the large Russian hurried to his side brushing snow off his pale cheeks. He was gladdened at the sight of his chest moving up and down, even if it was slower than normal. He then scoped him up off the ground, wrapping his arms around the chilled man. Ooh Yao-Yao, Please... Ivan closed his eyes tightly for a moment. When he opened the he sighed softly, and kissed Yao's forehead softly, "You're going to make it Yao-Yao. You can't die." With that he started walking back to his house, hoping he wasn't to late.
When Ivan made it back to his house, he set Yao down on the couch in front of the fire and slipped off his jacket and boots. He gently rubbed the mans frozen feet, trying to persuade the blood to flow into them again. Yao whimpered slightly in his sleep as they began to warm. Ivan kissed his forehead, "It's okay Yao-Yao." He murmured trying to comfort him. After a while Ivan stood going to fetch some more blankets to cover Yao up with to keep him warm. Please Yao... Wake up soon.
Yao slowly opened his eyes, looking around the room he was in. "Ivan..." he whispered
Ivan looked up from the book he had been reading while sitting beside the sleeping man. "Yao! You're awake!" He said as pulled Yao into a tight hug. Ivan kissed his forehead. "I wasn't sure if you were going to wake."
Yao watched him, and reached up to touch his cheek, which had tear streaks running down them. "You were really that worried, aru?"
"Da. I was Yao-Yao" he whispered into his hair.
A/N: Hey, thanks for reading this. I found this while cleaning out files on my disorganized computer, so I tweaked it a little from its original version and this is how it turned out.
I feel like Ivan is really out of character (or maybe this is his soft side that's not really known) but I couldn't figure out how to change it with out killing the story idea so it had to stay that way.
Anyway thanks for reading, and please consider checking out my profile if you like my writing style, and take the poll there to help me decide pick which pairings to use for my upcoming one-shots. Thanks!
