Evangelion's Money in the Bank
It was the 2013 Money in the Bank PPV. There was one match that was never talked about…..until now. The stars of Neon Genesis Evangelion competed in their own Money in the Bank match. Inside their yellow briefcase was a WWE contract and a guaranteed opportunity for any singles title in the WWE.
The participants were Shinji Ikari (finishing move: Diving Moonsault), Rei Ayanami (finishing move: Rei-ality Check (Miz's old finisher)), Asuka (finishing move: Reverse Suplex), Touji (finishing move: Spear), Kensuke (finishing move: Overdrive), Misato (finishing move: Twist of Fate), Ritsuko (finishing move: reverse DDT), and Gendo (finishing move: Stunner).
There is also a little side bet going. Rei and Asuka said that if either of them won the briefcase, they would also get a date with Shinji. I'm personally hoping Rei wins this bet. The match started, all the entrances were done, and Touji was the first to get a ladder. Ritsuko started attacking Misato and Rei while Shinji fought with Gendo on the outside. Asuka and Kensuke were hit with the ladder Touji had gotten. Touji then hit Gendo with a spear through the barricade early in the match.
Shinji was able to get back in the ring and help Rei fight off Ritsuko. Shinji then climbed the ladder Touji set up in the middle of the ring and started climbing it. Misato then grabbed Shinji's legs and hit an electric chair drop from the top of the ladder. Asuka climbed the ladder with Rei on the other side. They kept exchanging punches until Kensuke pushed the ladder down sending Rei and Asuka onto the concrete floor below.
Gendo finally recovered from the spear and hit Touji with a steel chair to the side of his head. Gendo then beat Asuka and Rei with the steel chair until Kensuke preformed a rope flip on Gendo causing the both of them to crash through the barricaded ringside.
All that was left was Shinji, Ritsuko, Misato, and Touji. Ritsuko snuck some brass knuckles into the match and knocked out Touji. Shinji and Misato were on top of the ladder fighting for the briefcase. Ritsuko then hit Misato with her finishing reverse DDT from the top of the ladder. Shinji and Ritsuko were the only ones left.
Shinji and Ritsuko fought until Shinji hit a jumping knee on Ritsuko, which propped her on an overturned ladder. Shinji then hit his patented diving moonsault on Ritsuko through the ladder, which allowed him to climb the ladder and get the briefcase.
Despite not winning the match, Rei still got a date with Shinji. Shinji stayed with the WWE for 7 years, winning the WWE title twice (one of them was from his briefcase), the intercontinental title 5 times, and the tag team titles 2 times with Trent Baretta, and once with Sin Cara.
