( Island In The Sun by Weezer)

When you're on a holiday

You can't find the words to say

All the things that come to you

And I wanna feel it too

On an island in the sun

We'll be playing and having fun

And it makes me feel so fine

I can't control my brain

Hip hip

Hip hip

When you're on a golden sea

You don't need no memory

Just a place to call your own

As we drift into the zone

On an island in the sun

We'll be playing and having fun

And it makes me feel so fine

I can't control my brain

We'll run away together

We'll spend some time forever

We'll never feel bad anymore

And it makes me feel so fine

I can't control my brain

Seth's leaving wasn't as spontaneous as it may have seemed. He basically used his old plan from before. If Ryan hadn't showed up, it would've been then instead of now. His plan of escape. Sure he was leaving his loving parents & the girl of his dreams, but they couldn't possibly understand. The same question remained, what was his life? Nothing. He was nothing. And now that his brother & his only true friend was gone, he felt it again. That feeling of emptiness, of being alone. It just made him want to runaway. Even though this would in fact isolate him even more, this was for the best. It had to be. No more jocks shoving him in lockers & peeing in his shoes. All he could ever do to fight back was use his wit, but that only rewarded him with another punch. If it wasn't for Ryan, Summer wouldn't have even noticed him. With him out of Newport maybe all the pain & suffering he was feeling would melt away. Maybe he should've killed himself back then when he had the chance. When he felt that heavy, dark cloud swell up inside his chest wanting to burst out. The whole world sucked & might as well have ended. No... he couldn't give them the satisfaction. He couldn't disappear off the face of the earth unknown. That is why he had waited. Now running away just seemed like a better option. Maybe Ryan will come back. He wanted to be angry. He wanted to blame all this on someone. Was it Ryan's fault? No. Was it Theresa's fault? Probably. How could she not know who the father is? How could she want to keep it when she can't even support herself? Why drag Ryan into this? Why can't she just fix things with Eddie? He shook the questions out of his head. No, It's not really her fault either. Did he dare blame God? Growing up his parents taught him about the Jewish faith, but what did it mean to him now? Where was God now? Doesn't matter anyway, he thought. It was all behind him. He frowned, the batteries for his walkman died out. Placing it aside, he wiped the sweat beneath his chocolate curls. Closing his eyes, he just decided to enjoy the sound of the sea & the glowing sun. Drifting off he wondered what direction life would be taking him this time. What if Tahiti was just another empty promise of hope? The lonely boy whispered to himself, "There is only one way to find out..."
