Man's Best Friend

"Jack, if you laugh, I will take your P-90 and shoot you in the leg," Daniel growled at his friend.

Sam, who was also suppressing a grin, sat down beside Daniel. "Is it, I mean, can it be fixed?"

"Perhaps Dr. Fraiser can do something," Teal'c suggested.

"Maybe about the physical attributes…but not the attitude. Hey, just look on the bright side, Daniel!" Jack added, though he was still trying not to laugh.

Daniel slowly looked up at Jack, a very dark expression on his face. "And what might that be?"

"The Goa'uld will either be laughing too hard, or be too stunned to fire on you," he finished.

Sam put her hand on Daniel's shoulder and tried to give him her best sympathetic look. "It isn't that bad, Daniel."

"Oh no, it's hardly noticeable," he growled sarcastically.

"It's your own fault for getting yourself cursed by a witch."

"Jack, shut up. I didn't know she was a witch. I didn't even know something like this was possible! Besides, I was only asking her a few questions about the culture." Daniel sulked, crossing his arms.

"Relax, Skippy. It gives you a certain…cuteness," chuckled Jack, patting the man on the head.

"Cuteness, sir?" Sam questioned, raising her eyebrows.

"Yeah! Just look at him! Don't you want to throw him a stick?"

Daniel growled low in his throat, baring his new fangs to Jack. He launched from his seat and tackled his friend, pinning him to the ground with surprising strength.

Teal'c tried to pull Daniel off of Jack, but failed.

"Daniel, get off." Jack didn't look too threatened. Just mildly annoyed.

"Then stop laughing at me," he snarled.

"Daniel, you'd be laughing at me if I was the one with the new features," replied Jack.

Daniel was just about to respond, but he felt an incredible itch behind his new set of ears. His foot started to twitch and he tipped his head to the side. He managed to lift his leg far enough to kick at his ear and scratch the itch.

Jack got to his feet and stared down at Daniel. "Along with those ears and tail, he's got a few new abilities as well."

Sam and Teal'c nodded.

"Well, as amusing as it is, we can't have Daniel like this forever. So I suppose we'd better go find the wicked witch that turned Daniel into man's best friend."

"Why didn't we do that in the first place?" Daniel growled.

"We had to laugh at you first…"
