Forgetfulness
Roy forgets one very important day that is coming up in the future. This is from Roy's POV.

I was sitting in my home office, a glass of whiskey in one hand and a pen in the other one. My glove was lying on the desk. My blue coat was unbuttoned to reveal the white button-up I was wearing underneath. My eyes were closed, giving off the impression that I was sleeping. I heard Riza's footsteps at the door. I was tempted to turn my head and smile at her, but I knew that she was probably thinking in her head how cute it was that I fell asleep while working. So, I kept my eyes close and she walked away; presumably towards the kitchen to start cooking dinner. I opened up my and blinked a couple of times to refocus them.
'I need a nap; this whiskey isn't doing the job.' I put the whiskey down and look at the papers on my desk. One of them is Riza's maternity leave, which I need to get filed ASAP; otherwise I'm going to get my ass handed to me on a silver platter. Another is vacation time for Havoc, which reminds me that I need to put in for vacation time soon for Havoc's wedding. There are several more papers dealing with vacation time and a couple dealing sick leaves. The last paper confuses me though. It's from Riza, but it's for me. She's putting in for vacation time for me.
'Ok, what the gun-happy harpy planning now?' Then I double-check the date. It's May 10th of next year. 'Ok, what's on May 10th?' So, I look at the calendar on my desk. 'So, according to this, I have nothing planned. Guess this means I'm asking Riza.' I get up and head into the kitchen where Riza is, in all of her 5½ months pregnant glory. She turns her head slightly when I walk in, but doesn't focus all of her attention onto me.
"Riza, why are you putting in for vacation time for me?" She turns off the faucet, then turns around and leans on the counter; one eyebrow raised.
"What day is it for?" I look quickly at the paper in my hand to make sure I have the date right.
"May 10th of next year, which I don't have anything marked down for." She shakes her head as if the answer is obvious. "Well, waiting over here for explanation."
"You really don't remember?" I nod my head as Riza sighs. "Ok, 6 months ago what did you ask me?" I think about that for a second, just to make sure I have the right answer in my head.
"I asked you to marry…me…" The answer hit me like a ton of bricks; May 10th was our wedding day. How in the seven hells could I forget that? But that still didn't answer why Riza was putting in for it now.
"And if you're wondering why I put that request in now, it's because you obviously will forget." I glared at her, wondering how she managed to read my mind every time.
"Riza, if the baby is due in January; won't that make time pretty tight to plan the wedding?" Riza turned her head slightly and looked at me as if I had lost my mind.
"Roy, the baby is due in December." Ok, I officially felt like the world's biggest idiot.
"You're 6 ½ months pregnant?!" She nodded her head slowly and I felt that feeling that anyone who has ever worked with Riza gets when she either about to shoot you or throw something at you.
"Let me guess, you never finished filing my maternity leave." I gulp visibly, even though Riza promised to lay her guns aside for the time being, I can't promise that she'll do the same for the ladle she's holding in her hand. I spin around and head back to my office before she can send the ladle flying at my head.
(A/N: Just decided that I wanted to do a cute Royai oneshot, also this is helping get out the frustration of being stuck in the backseat of a car next to my ex-boyfriend for 2 and a half hours, while my boyfriend was riding shotgun…never again!
