Fionna's POV

I hate crying. Even though I'm totally entitled to crying as much as I lumpin want given the current situation.

"Come on out of there, baby cakes," Cake said, trying to coax me out of my room.

"No!" I shouted.

"Sis…"

"I'm sorry Cake, just, I'm fine I just need some time alone. I'm sorry," I apologized.

She let it go and shuffled away from the door.

Once she was gone I curled back up in the fetal position and cried some more. Why all the tears you may wonder? A few months ago the guy I love, who shall remain nameless because he's a stupid globin vampire who doesn't deserve recognition, left. He just…left. Without even saying goodbye.

I've been kicking myself ever since not telling him how I feel about him. Anyway, now I have no idea where the lump he is, hence the mass amounts of tears and alone time in my room.

"Hey sis, I know you want to be alone, but Bubblegum came to visit."

I sighed, wiping my eyes and getting to me feet. Refusing Bubblegum now would just make him come back later. I pulled the door open reluctantly.

"Hello Fionna. How are you feeling?" he asked.

"I've been better," I grumbled.

"I was wondering if you would like to accompany me to the movies tonight. Maybe getting out this house will help you forget about M—uh—well you know who."

"That's really sweet of you PB, but I'd rather put out a campfire with my face than leave the house."

"Fionna!" Cake scolded.

I just shrugged and dragged myself back to my room.

Being rude to Bubblegum wasn't my intention, but without M-, the vampire, nothing really mattered.

This really wasn't me. I don't mope, especially when it comes to boys. He was different. A little bit of a tool, but underneath he has a good heart. I miss him. Glob I miss him so mu—

A knock on the window made me jump. Who the—

My stomach dropped. No way. Marshall.

"Psst, Fi let me in," he hissed.

I inched over to the window and pulled it open. He floated in before landing softly on his feet.

"Sup bro."

I stared at him.

"Sup bro?"

"Huh?"

"You disappear for six months and all you have to say to me is sup bro!" I yelled.

"Yo Fi, chill. I had some stuff to take care of in the Nightosphere."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't think I needed too."

That did it. I pulled my hand back and slapped him hard across the face.

"Ow! My cheek meat!" he screeched.

"Baby cakes what's goin on in there?" Cake's voice came through the door.

"Nothing Cake, just moping," I answered.

"Alright. I'm gonna go see Lord M for a bit. I'll bring you some icecream to help drown your sorrows."

I waited until I heard the door open and close before turning to face Marshall again.

"Why do you have to drown your sorrows?" he asked.

I didn't answer. I couldn't. The lump in my throat was back and the tears were flowing down my cheeks. Letting out a chocked sob, I threw myself into Marshall's arms.

"Fionna," he breathed.

"I missed you so much!" I sobbed into his chest.

"I-oh glob I missed you too!"

He held me impossibly close, kissing the top of my head.

"I-I-I," I stuttered, looking up at him."

"I love you," he finished.

"Do you mean it?" I asked.

"Of course I do!"

He cupped my chin, leaning down to connect our lips. I relaxed against him, practically melting into the kiss. He pulled back, stroking my cheek.

"Aren't you gonna say it?"

"Say what?"

"Duh Fionna, that you love me too."

"Oh right. Sorry, I meant to say that before," I said, leaning up so my lips were pressing against his ear.

"I love you," I whispered.

He chuckled.

"See, I knew you had a crush on me."

I smiled up at him.

"Jerk."
