Batman: The Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that Saint Nicholas would soon be there
Up in his room, Richard laid in his bed
As visions of sugar plums danced in his head
When all of sudden there was noise on the roof
And to his surprise it sounded like a hoof
His eyes shot right open and widened with glee
As he imagined all the gifts being placed under the tree
He tore off the covers, the quilt, and the sheet
But then started to long for that missing heat
He slowly crept on the floor in his black wool socks
As he silently sneaked past the old grandfather clock
He kneeled by the banister so he could peek
The cold wooden railing pressed against his cheek
He saw the fireplace cast shadows on the wall
As dancing little men now decked the hall
Slowly he crept, inch by inch
He made it down the stairs, he did it in a cinch
He ducked by the archway, his head started to rise
And wouldn't know, he got a great big surprise!
Twasn't Santa, but a man dressed in black
He had a robber on his shoulder, hanging like a sack
The man in black had big pointed ears
Richard knew he was what most naughty boys feared
The man on his shoulder stank of cheap liquor
And Richard wished he had gotten down quicker
The man in black, with the pointed ears and the cowl and cape
Was about the size of a great big ape
His shadow looked as if he could spread it across the land
When the man in black extended his hand
With a smile he ruffled Richard's head
And told the young boy 'now off to bed'
Richard ran quickly, he ran fast
And the grandfather clock did he past
And so up the chimney, the man in black flew
He had the robber man up there too
Richard lay in bed, awaiting the noise
His eyes were open wide, he was striked and poised
He didn't have reindeer, but he flew just the same
Off, the man in black flew, to more criminals to tame
He dropped off the robber in front of police hall
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!
