Clark Kent came from outer space
And grew up with the human race.
He looked like a normal man,
But could lift buses with his bare hands.
In Metropolis he worked at a newspaper,
After arriving he met Lois Lane just a little later.
In his spare time he worked as Superman,
But Lex Luthor had other plans.
Superman will weaken if exposed to Kryptonite.
Luthor knew this as he began to strike.
Lex wanted to study Superman
To see what made him different from ordinary man.
Lex tried to stop Superman's flight.
Love problems only added to the superhero's plight.
Luthor used Kryptonite, the effects of which only Kent could feel,
To try to defeat the Man of Steel.
A fierce battle was fought,
And the superhero nearly lost.
But he prevailed and saved the day,
Ending the terrible fray.
He saved the city from the mad scientist
And definitely went higher up on everyone's 'favorite' list.
Since Lex Luthor's fall,
Posters of Superman went up on girls' walls.
But of all his admirers he had eyes for only one,
In his mind, Lois Lane was second to none.
