Niall Horan checked his watch. Half past five.
He was waiting for his friend, Lia Thompkins. Ever since they met, he had feelings for her but he was too shy to admit it to her.
Today, that was going to change. Lia was going to fly over to her stepdad's house in Hawaii for the summer, and Niall wanted to tell her how he felt. Niall knew it was stupid of him to tell her that now, but it was the only way he could finally tell her, after 3 years.
Lia's flight was going to go off in two and a half hours but she wasn't there yet, so Niall seated himself on a bench, closing his eyes and seeing the face that was stuck permanently on his mind. Lia. Her piercing, bright, electric, blue eyes that seemed to stare deep into his soul. Her dyed black hair that was always straightened. Her tiny nose and lips she often got made fun of.
"Niall?" he heard that soft voice, calling him to open his eyes.
There she was.
Niall looked at what she was wearing. A grey hoodie and loose jeans. Nevertheless, he thought she looked stunning.
"Hi," Niall shyly whispered, his face red.
Stop acting like a fucking pussy, Niall.
"Hi Niall, what are you doing here?" Lia asked, curious.
"Oh, just I want to send you off to Hawaii," Niall smiled, embarrassed.
Now it was Lia's turn to blush. Lia opened her mouth to say something, but then Niall continued.
"… And to-o te-te-ll yo-you som-ome-thing," Niall stuttered.
Lia raised her eyebrows in confusion.
It's now or never, Niall.
Niall walked back to the bench he was sitting at and took the guitar out of the case.
Clearing his throat, he shuffled closer to her, looked deep into those eyes and started strumming and singing.

Throughout the song Niall saw Lia smiling shyly and her face was probably redder than the seconds before.
As he finished his last chord on the strings, Lia's lips crashed into his. Niall was shocked; he didn't think this would happen.
They kissed for a fairly long time, until the announcer announced that the gates of the flight that Lia was boarding was open.
"Niall James Horan, I want you to know that I love you. A lot. And I have been since I met you," Lia smiled as she pulled away from Niall.
Niall was happy, but he already missed her. He pulled her into a tight hug, afraid to let go.
"Darling, stay safe," he whispered, gulped, and kissed her forehead. Lia only snuggled in more.
They stayed like that for a while, feeling each other's heartbeats, dreading to let go of each other.
