Flames. Great blazing towers of orange and yellow engulfed the entire town of Nibelheim, tongues of fire licking and devouring at the buildings. And in the midst of it all, a tall man with silver hair standing there, the flames causing his hair to shine gold.
The sound of collapsing masonry reverberated through the air as Genesis Rhapsodos ran into the burning town, gasping as he saw Sephiroth just… standing there. "What are you doing? Why are you doing this?" He was forced to throw himself to the ground as a piece of flaming wood dislodged itself and nearly crashed into him.
Sephiroth just looked up, then he turned away to walk through the flames and up Mt. Nibel. How could he face Genesis again? Wasn't he the one who had tried to convince him that he was nothing but a monster? With urgency in his stride, he made his way up to the Nibelheim Reactor.
"Where does he think he's going…" Genesis mused to himself as he hurried up Mt. Nibel after his friend, the cold air of Mt. Nibel sending an ominous chill up his spine. His breath condensed in front of him as he headed up to the Nibelheim Reactor, hurrying inside.
He caught a swish of black leather from the corner of his eye as he walked down a catwalk. His feet picked up pace as he made his way to the heart of the reactor, looking up to see Sephiroth at a door at the top of a set of stairs.
"You don't have to do this—!" Genesis' voice was almost desperate.
Sephiroth ignored him and opened the door. "I must free Mother." He stepped inside. The crimson poet wasted no time and bounded up the stairs two at a time after him, gasping as he saw just what was in that room. The alien, Jenova. That could not be anything related to the silverette. It couldn't be.
"How can that creature be your mother?!" The redhead shook his head and gasped as Sephiroth summoned Masamune to his hand, holding the blade close to Genesis' throat.
"Do not… insult Mother in front of me." he hissed. Genesis felt his blood run cold.
