He's still not sure what's happening when the first, round droplet of water hits his robe. He's still uncertain when more moisture splatters his head, but he witnesses the animals hurrying their steps. There can be no more doubt.
This water falling from the darkening sky has to be the rain about which God has warned him. This has to be the thing for which he's been waiting and preparing. Noah hurries his family and the remaining animals onto the ark, only one thing clear in his mind: His God will protect him from this rain and all that follows.
