Disclaimers: I only own Fred Weasley (the twins' uncle) and George Prewett.
Author's note: I researched the twins' family tree and found two spots on the tree that just say male Weasley or male Prewett. This is my idea on how Fred and George Weasley got their names. Also, this story has my idea on why Mrs. Weasley yells at Fred and George a lot other than them causing commotion.
Molly Weasley loved all of her sons, but sometimes they could be a burden. There was Ron, who got into danger a lot and faced evil face to face. And then there was Fred and George Weasley. The pranksters of the family.
"FRED! GEORGE! WILL YOU STOP THAT RACKET UP THERE" she would sometimes yell to them. She went back to her cleaning and remembered the day they were born.
April 1, 1978:
"Arthur! They're beautiful" Molly Weasley cried to her husband. Arthur held his wife in his arms and looked at his two brand new sons. Tears were streaming down Molly's face as the two babies looked at her curiously.
"Yes they are my dear. What shall we call them" Arthur asked. Molly and Arthur thought. They hadn't really thought of names like they would usually do.
"How about Fredrick for this little guy. After your brother, Fred. We should do it, we owe him for saving our lives" Molly said. Arthur smiled sadly. Their first home had been attacked and his older brother, Fred Weasley, had come to the rescue and gotten him, Molly, Bill, and Charlie out of the house. Molly had been pregnant with Percy at the time. In rescuing them, Fred had held the Death Eaters off and was killed in the process.
"I like it. How about Fabian or Gideon for this little one, after your brothers" Arthur suggested. Gideon and Fabian Prewett had also died during a Death Eater attack, but it was during a raid for the original Order of the Phoenix.
"No, they don't sound right with his brother's name. I want a name that goes good with his brother's" Molly said. Arthur thought some more.
"How about George, after your father" he asked. Molly smiled at the suggestion.
"Perfect. Fredrick and George Weasley. What about middle names" Molly asked. Arthur already knew what he wanted to have as their middle names.
"How about Fredrick Gideon Weasley for the older one and George Fabian Weasley for the youngest" Arthur suggested. Molly's eyes watered at the suggestion. She loved it.
"Perfect. You wanted to name the twins after my brothers" she asked shakily. Arthur nodded and she kissed him. Gideon and Fabian were her older brothers and she looked up to them.
"Of course, they were heroes and they deserve to be honored" Arthur told her. Molly began to cry uncontrollably and then stopped when a nurse came in.
Molly stared out the window with tears rolling down her face. Fred and George were her sons and she loved them dearly. She remembered her older brothers and thought about them every day. Whenever she looked at Fred and George, she was reminded of her brothers at that age. Carefree, mischievous, and always pranking.
