Depending on how you want to see this, it can either take place instead of Radar reading the letters out in OR at the end of 'The Party'. Or as an ad on at the end of the episode.

I do not own M*A*S*H, or any of the characters. I hope you like 

"That was some part Beej" Hawkeye said as they entered the mess tent

The party they are on about is the reunion that was thrown for the family members back home in the States.

"Yeah, it was wasn't it Hawk, even if I do say so myself" was the reply

"Modest" Hawk replied

They both grabbed their cup of coffee, or what was being passed as Coffee as join the other at a table.

"Good morning Pierce, Hunnicut" Said Potter

"Oh morning Colonel, How are we all this fine morning?"

A chorus of 'fines, OK, good as can be's' could be heard from around the table.

"Hawkeye was jus praising me with compliments about my fabulous party that I threw" BJ said with a mischievous look and sparkle in his eyes

"Yeah, from the letter that I go my the misses Hunnicut, the time they had was a dandy one"

"The letter I got from my sister was full of praise. Apparently she had them swinging the whole night long with her Saxophone" This input was from Father Mulcahy

"My letter was full of praise for Margaret mother, seems like my dad and Kate really hit it off" Said Hawkeye

In walks Margaret, who receives her coffee and join the others

"Morning all"

"Ah, morning major, we were just discussing the infamous party that Hunnicut organised, have you had a letter of your mother?" Said Potter

"Erm, no not yet Colonel. I'm sure I will though sir, soon.

"Seems like our parents enjoyed each others company Margaret"

"Oh really, why would you say that Pierce"

"Well from the letter that I got from my dad, it was full of praise for your mother, he talks about dancing with her, staying up late talking, loads of stuff"

"Oh, I really don't think so Pierce, the last letter I got from my mother was that after the divorce she was enjoying single life. I hardly think that she was all over your father." "Any way" she said in a joking manner "she wouldn't have lowered her self to the Pierce standard"

Opened mouthed, "Why, why Margaret we are quick with the wise cracks this morning"

Laughs could be heard coming from the table

Radar walks in "Mail call"

"Oh goody, I haven't heard from Peg in over a week"

"Captain Pierce, one for you, Colonel two for you, Father one for you, Captain two for you and Major two for you"

"Ooooh, miss popular over there" said Pierce

"Well what can I say, one from my mother and my sister"

The table was quite for a few minutes while everyone was busy reading the letters from their loved ones. The ones that they would do anything to get a sight of. Hawkeye couldn't believe what he was reading in his letter. It was impossible. It had to be a joke. He looked at all the other who were all to busy to see his shocked face. Hawkeye looked over a Margaret who was just putting down the letter from her sister. She looked up to see Hawkeye staring at her.

"What's the matter Pierce?" She asked

"Erm, just something in my letter that took me by surprise" he swallowed hard "I think you better read the letter from your mother"

"Why" she asked confused, while opening the white envelope

All eyes were on Margaret as she read and re read the letter, a number different expressions could be scene to flash over her face. Once she was done she looked up, her face finally settling on an unbelieving expression.

"You OK Margaret" Potter asked

"Major" asked Father Mulcahy

"What's in the letter Margaret?" BJ asked

Margaret and Hawkeye locked eyes. Each trying to read the others thoughts.

Margaret looked up at each of them, "My mother's got married, to Hawkeye's dad" she finally said in disbelief.

The table was silent.
