This poem popped into my head after I heard and read some damaging words against God. I was hurt and this was my response.

Whisper

oh my Love

how my heart breaks for You

for us

for what they simply cannot

will not believe

oh my Love

bring Your strong arms around me

keep me within Your stronghold

crunch me up close to You

so that i may gain strength from Your eyes

oh how can i

how can i when i am the one to blame

for the outcome of what has happened

the fallout we so easily try to keep out

listen to me when i scream out in pain

oh my Love

listen when i fall to the ground in shame

out into the sun my Love

oh my Love

please take pity

have mercy where words run dry

when i no longer have the strength to withstand the silence

the knives meant for You

they might as well be meant for me

i cry

dry my tears

oh my Love

hold my face inside Your holy hands

give me back my hope

that i foolishly gave away to others

oh my Love

meet me in this place of darkness

of separation

give me back my life again

my heart is barely beating now

i'm bleeding
