Warriors: The Loner

The heavens rained down heavily on Raindew's pelt. His shoulders where hunched high over his head as his whiskers barely scratched the ground below his paws. His deep green eyes seemed to be filled with sorrow only making him blend in more with his sad surroundings. His paws pulled at the ground below him as he walked on in the rain that pulling so hard at his ears. He trudged on but as far as he went his paws just seemed to sink deeper into the muddy ground below but his next step was his last… his dark gray paw sunk deep into the ground. Unable to pull his paw out of the grasp of the rain made monster he fell to the ground. There was nothing left in his life that could make him go on but wait, what's that? A dark gray figure stood nothing but a fox length away from him. It was a she-cat with a long lush white tail. Raindew's heart began to ache he pulled out his paw with all the strength he had and ran to the figure but as soon as he looked into her eyes he saw that they were glazed over in a white glossy color… she was dead. "No it's not true!" was all he could say as he ran after her but she just nodded and darted off deeper into the forest. He wasn't going to let her get away, not this time, he had to stop her but no matter how fast he ran he never got any closer to her. He darted past trees and over bushes but still she was not near. Soon she would stop, right? But no she just kept running till only a small fence stood in her way. "This is my chance," he said leaping on to the fence at the same moment she did but only he did not gain his balance… he slipped. Unsheathing his claws he grabbed on to the fence and as he tried hoisting him self up the she-cat crawled over to his paws and leaned over whispering into his ear "we will be with each other soon" she said unlatching his claws from the fence. Fear was in his eyes as his last claw was pulled loose from the grasp of the fence and he fell. His claws swung out in all directions to finds something to save his falling body… but there was nothing. He fell deeper into the gorge before his body finally met the cold wet water that stung like broken glass, this was it all his worries would end here and once again there would be no one to save him from his own foolish chose. He was no longer trying to save himself… He let the cold water sweep him under filling his lungs and freezing his heart that no one would ever touch again.
