Author's note - these two have planted plot bunnies in my head, I swear
Regina woke with a start, sitting straight up in her bed. Her eyes darted around the room, looking for the source of the noise that drew her from her dreams, focusing on the snuffling lump by her feet.
Lifting the blanket, she spoke softly. "Henry? Baby? Are you okay?"
His little head shook back and forth.
"Oh sweetheart, come here." She held the blanket up until he launched himself into her chest, wrapping his tiny arms around her neck.
Readjusting, she leaned back against her pillows and tucked her blankets around herself and Henry.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Henry shook his head again, burrowing and snuffling into her shoulder.
"Shhhh. It's okay. I've got you. You'll always be safe with me, my Little Henry." She rubbed his back until his sobs subsided.
He murmured into her neck. "Momma?"
She hummed in acknowledgement.
"How comes der are monsters under my bed?"
"Oh my sweet boy. Do you need me to go make them go away? They have to listen to the Momma Queen, right?"
"No! Momma, stay here. Can…can I sleep in yours big bed instead?" He sat on her stomach and looked up with his big puppy dog eyes.
She chuckled. "Only this one time, okay little man?"
Grinning, his snuggled into Regina's side, head resting above her heart.
"How comes yours heart is so noisy, Momma?"
"Because it wants you to know how much I love you."
"Oooooh. Hmm. I like that." He pressed a sloppy kiss over her heart. "I love you Momma."
"I love you even more, my Henry."
What I wouldn't give for some flashbacks like this on the show...
