A/N: The inspirations for this was 30 Second's to Mars's song, Hurricane, and Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Evidently, I have way too much time on my hands. This was also a chance to play with 2nd person, which I'm dreadfully inexperienced with.
Edit(7/27/11): Thank you, D. Gray-Man archive 'Stalker, for catching those mistakes!
Disclaimer: Chapter 207 would probably never come if that were the case.
You leave the tall double doors open to the wind.
The stained glass windows cast colors over your skin, depicting the God you supposedly worship. You've seen this so many times over, His crown of thorns and penetrated palms and feet, exhibited on a cross.
Your boots faintly click against the marble flooring, echoing throughout the monochrome nave. Alone, you take a seat halfway to the impressive church organ situated before an imperial, alabaster likeness of your God. Leisurely crossing your legs, you clasp your hands.
But you do not bow your head.
A benign wind tickles your bare neck.
Nostalgia churns in your stomach, and you wonder when you last rode the wind. The vertigo of flight has never been the same, not since your God and Innocence betr—
For a moment, you wonder if He deserves your forgiveness.
The wind once spoke of many things. On its breath, your nonsensical whispers were perpetuated . It prolonged your laughter to preying ears as you first took to the sky.
That was torn away when you had your first encounter with Akuma. You were thrown into a life on the battlefield and the wind carried you and brought you, exorcists, and Akuma agony. You had the wind in your feet to whisk you away from injury, to tear apart your foes in a whirl, to vaporize your opponents with meteorite-kicks—
To muffle the voices of the comrades you can't remember, for you do not struggle for Him.
But you still pray to God, who you place no faith in, so that He may bring salvation.
The canticles of sotto voce screams do not cease.
A/N: If you happen to be religious, please do not take this seriously. I sincerely hope I have not offended anyone.
Soo... I hope all of your summers have been relaxing and enjoyable. Its end is near. ._.
