Harry p.o.v
I brushed my messy bangs out of my emerald green eyes. I was currently trying to write an essay for Professor Snape on the properties of Polyjuice Potion. It wasn't that hard since Hermione had made some in the second year, but I couldn't concentrate. My mind was on more important stuff, so I just waited for Hermione to come so I could convince her to let me copy he work.
I was so deep in thought, mainly about Quidditch, that I didn't even notice how late it was getting. Finally, my eyes fell on the window, and I remembered that I was supposed to be at Quidditch practice.
I fumbled with my things and raced to the outside with only one thought in my mind "Oliver is going to be furious." But when I got there, I was surprised to find Slytherins racing on their brooms rather than Griffindorrs.
"Uh… guys?" I asked, spotting them sitting on the benches, "What happened?"
"Oh, hey Harry," said Katie, "I know it sucks, but Professor Snape already booked the court for his team."
I looked up at the Slytherins for a few seconds. Their playing looked rather poor to me, and that made me smirk, but it disappeared in a second.
Malfoy had apparently spotted the snitch and flew towards it at top speed, but then Marcus Flint suddenly just came in the middle. I t was too late. Malfoy crashed, and before my mind could register it, he was falling towards the ground.
Without thinking, I grabbed my broom and zoomed towards him. I managed to grab a fistful of his robes, but his weight definitely pulled me down.
But I didn't have to worry, because Fred and George soon came to the rescue. The grabbed Malfoy gently and not-so-gently put him on the ground.
When Malfoy touched the ground, he looked around for his savior with relief clearly etched onto his face, but it soon turned into a scowl after he saw me getting off my broom.
"I never needed your help, Potter!"
I barely heard anything after that except for the indignant shouts of my team mates.
"He saved you!"
"You definitely know how to repay someone who saves your life!"
"You wouldn't have moved a muscle if Harry had been up there!"
"You are s-"
"What's going on here?"
Everyone went silent immediately. Angelina stepped forward and cleared her throat.
"Nothing Professor McGongall, except Harry just saved Malfoy's life and he isn't the least bit thankful!"
"That's because Potter doesn't deserve!" said Flint.
"I bet Draco is very thankful, aren't you?"
"I guess so…"
"So now everyone should calm down and continue practicing or go to their common rooms before I start taking away points."
…...
I had completely forgotten about the Quidditch drama. For a few days, I got a pat on the back wherever I went, but things soon came back to normal.
….
I was just going to the Great Hall for lunch when suddenly, there was a crack and the last thing I heard was
"Potter!"
Before I was buried beneath a pile of rock and debris.
But surprisingly, my body didn't feel like it was being squashed. Instead, there was something shielding me. It was too dark to see but I barely cared.
Then, to my relief, the rocks were lifted and I could see the concerned face of Professor Dumbledore and the horrified one of Professor McGonagall.
There were a few gasps and I suddenly saw what was shielding me
"Malfoy….why?
"I had to repay you, didn't I?"
