Alphonse was looking at his brother with concern. Ever since he had come back from the movie theatre, Ed had been acting weird. Al shrugged this off as normal brother behavior, sat in a corner, and shut himself down.
The next morning, Ed shook Al, saying that he had another lead to get Al's body back. Ed and Al boarded the train to the North. "Why the North, brother?" "Because!" Ed occupied himself by sleeping on Al's armor, and Al just stared out the window, watching the summer greens turn frosty white.
When they arrived, Ed jumped off the rain, ran into some random cave, and broke off the sharpest icicle he could find. Running back to Al, he asked Al to open his armor plate. Al was a bit confused, but he complied.
The instant his armor was off, Ed crawled inside with his sharp icicle, jumped around a bit and said, "This might hurt a bit. Don't worry, I have everything under control." Al was completely baffled now, but before he had the chance to say anything, Ed stuck the icicle into his blood seal.
Al was very alarmed now. He reached into his armor to pull out Ed, and dropped him onto the snow.
"Are you crazy? You probably just killed me!"
Ed flinched a bit, but then replied "I know what I'm doing. I'm going to get your body back today, Al." Then he looked up, and smiled "It's working..."
Al looked up. "What? What's happening?"
"Your hair is turning white, Al! It's great!"
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah! And your foot is freezing up too!"
"Wha-What's happening to me? Why am I freezing up?"
"Don't worry. Everything's turning out the way it's supposed to."
Within minutes, Al had completely frozen up. Ed walked over to his now frozen brother, jumped, and hung off his arm like a leech.
"Please work, please work, please work pleaseworkpleasework."
Slowly, the ice around Al's helmet melted, but when it finally thawed, it was not metal, but the flesh and blood of Alphonse Elric. When Alphonse's body had completely thawed, Alphonse blinked. He wondered why Edward was looking at him with such an awed and amazed expression. The he realized that he..felt...cold?
"Brother! I'm human again! I can feel!"
"You were already human, Al, you were just trapped inside the armor."
Then he leaned down, and hugged Al so tight, he couldn't breathe.
"Welcome back, Al."
"Brother?"
"Yes?"
"I'm cold."
