Toshiro sits on the railing watching the sky in Karakura Town.
"Toshiro?" The dark haired Kurosaki girl says.
Toshiro "Yeah Karin?"
Karin "Can I ask you something? It's okay if you say no. It's not any of my business but I was just-"
"Go ahead. You can ask me anything, Karin."
"Well… I was wondering. Are you alright?"
"Huh?" He asks turning his attention to her.
Karin gulps "I mean. Ever since the war… you've been different. Worse than after the war with Aizen. What happened? I'm worried for you. It's okay if you don't want to answer. I understand. I have no right to know."
Toshiro looks at the sky "This war was more difficult. We all lost so many people. Yamamoto, Ukitake, Unohana, Komamura, Sasakibe. I lost two people who were like family." He clenches his hands into fist "I- I wasn't strong enough. I lost- I lost them…"
Karin doesn't say anything. She doesn't judge. She just listens to him.
"Matsumoto. Hinamori. If I had been stronger! Then they wouldn't have died!! I'm weak. The war made me realize that. That I can't protect anyone. I don't know what I would have done if I lost you too. I lost two of the three people I care most about." He covers his mouth holding back a sob as tears roll down his face "I'm sorry Karin. I sorry you have to see this side of me… I'm sorry I'm weak."
Karin wraps her arms around him "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked. But it's gonna be alright. I know how much it hurts someone you love. I can't imagine losing two though. Don't worry I'm here for you. Always here for you. Remember that."
"I love you. I can't loss you."
Both fall silent for a moment.
"Toshiro?"
He doesn't say anything but let's go.
"Toshiro. Did- did you mean that?"
Toshiro "I love you Karin. More than you know. You're the only person I have left. Please don't leave me?"
"I'm here for you Toshiro. I love you too. I'm here no matter."
