The wards alert Albus that someone not keyed in was to trying to enter the premises. He quickly moved to the doorway and his eyes widen as he saw her.

Ginny Weasley. Not Potter. Not since it was discovered that she had been dousing his dad with a love potion in order to get and keep him. She was lucky she wasn't disowned by her family due to the embarrassment her actions caused them. She was lucky she still had a last name at all.

His eyes roamed over the woman, who stood just outside of the wards. He hadn't seen since he was seven, and he was trying to see something familiar in the woman he knew was his mother, although his dad didn't like to talk much about her. Not that Albus blamed him of course. He couldn't imagine how it felt to know his free will was stripped away by someone he had once trusted.

The dress she wore wasn't flattering to her at all. The red of it clashed with her limp and lifeless hair. She was thin and pale. In fact, she looked sickly.

He knew not to let her into the wards. Not without his dad's permission so with a deep breath, he left the safety of the house and approached where she stood on the outside of the premises.

When her eyes fell on him, he gulped at the smarmy glaze of them.

"What do you want?" he asked robotically, not wanting her to see how her presence affected him.

"You're my son; I wanted to see you."

"You haven't tried to see me since I was seven. Why now?"

Ginny smiled softly. "I missed you. I thought you and I could be a family now."

Albus knew this had been coming. "James and Lily already turned you away, so you've come to me. Don't sugarcoat it."

Ginny's eyes hardened. "You're my son."

"Maybe, but I'm also my dad's son. He never stopped you from seeing me, James, or Lily. I was there when he said you could still be our mother, but he didn't want to see you himself. You chose to stay away because all you cared about was my dad. I don't think you ever truly cared about being a mother, only want having kids would help you achieve. I bet you thought he would stay with you, even after he found out the truth about the potion, because of us. Wasn't that a letdown for you? As far as I'm concerned, I have one parent. My dad. And many aunts and uncles. I don't need you, so please, don't bother me or my family again."

With a heavy heart, he turned and left her standing there. He ignored her wails. Ignored her words that were meant to lure him back. He didn't owe Ginny Weasley anything.
