Hi guys! The names HolyAppleFruit, and this is my very first fanfic, so if you have any suggestions or anything then tell me down below. My writing might not be the best, and there'll be most likely a lot of spelling mistakes, so sorry 'bout that... But all in all, I hope you enjoy this Rolu fanfic I'm making!

Also, the GMG never happened and neither did Tenrou Island! So Fairy Tail never was asleep for 7 years! There might be a bit of OOC with the characters so sorry about that. Enjoy the story!

Btw, this is when Lucy was still a kid and still lived in the Heartfilia Konzern. So this will be an AU kinda story.

HolyAppleFruit Outies ^v^ ~

Prologue

My tiny feet pounded on the moist ground, rain descending from the sky. I could feel my tears cascading down my cheeks, making everything in my view blurry.

I was angry… Angry at my father who neglects me. Never paying attention to what I do, or what I say. I knew he was a busy man… I knew he was heartbroken as well, but that didn't give him the right to ignore his own daughter, his own flesh, and blood. He only ever paid attention to me whenever he needed something from me or needed something for me to do. I never minded it, I just thought he needed time to recover after mama died. I thought his cold stares, his angry outbursts would all go away… But no, they just kept coming.

Before I realized, my foot got caught on an outgrown tree root. I fell on my belly, causing me to yelp in pain. I slowly sat up to sit on my bum, causing my light-pink tattered dress to become wet.

I gripped to wet grass, "Mama…" I finally let out all of my feelings that was bottled up inside me un-cap.

I cried in anguish, wanting my mother's warm hugs that soothed me. Her loving kisses that made me feel warm and calm inside.

"You alright?"

I whipped my head to look at the person who was in front of me.

It was a boy, almost the same height as me but a bit taller. He had onyx-black hair with bangs that covered his right eye. A scar was plastered on the bridge of his nose. He seemed to be wearing a brown t-shirt that was tattered at the bottom, with a pair of black shorts with dirt and mud smudge over them. But what stood out the most was his eyes. They were a bright red color, red as a rose's petals. For pupils, he has slits like a cats eye. His eyes seemed fierce, ready to take on whoever challenged him. Yet, there was a bit of gentleness deep within.

I snapped out of my thoughts, before slowly backing away from the stranger, "W-w-who a-are you?" I stammered.

The boy stared at me for what seemed like forever. I felt I was his prey and he was my predator under his crimson gaze. He seemed to notice that I was becoming quite scared of his staring, that his eyes seemed to soften a little. He gradually sat down in a meditation like position.

He spoke in a calm voice, "My name is Rogue, Rogue Cheney. I'm not here to harm you in any way, miss...?"

I wonder if I should tell him my real name? Mama always said not to reveal your real name until you FULLY trust that person. Thoughts went through my mind as I tried to make a decision. Finally, I took up my Mama's decision. I decided to use a fake name just in case he was some kind of stalker, even though he looked the same age as me, but looks can be deceiving.

I hesitantly spoke, "My names... Lucille, Lucille Chaaya..."

"Well, Lucille... What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" He asked.

I hugged my knees, tears ready to burst out of my eyes. "I ran from home..." Rogue just sat there, seeming to be in deep thought.

He got up from the ground before out-stretching his hand towards me, "Come with me, I want to show you something."

I looked at him puzzled, wondering what he wanted to show me. I shyly grabbed his hand, making myself come off the ground.

"Try and keep up," He stated.

Before I could speak he ran, pulling me with him. We ran through the forest, my heart racing through my chest. Tears slid down my cheek from the wind blowing against my face. Our feet slammed into the ground, as a loud thumping sound could be heard from our running. A smile slowly made it's way across my face, the excitement I've never had in my life since mother died. We would always go on small adventures, but they were never as enticing as this boy and I ran across the forested terrain.

Rogue halted, causing me to bump into his back. I rubbed my nose from the small pain I felt.

"We're here," He muttered.

Sooner or later, I opened my eyes.

I gasped.

It was beautiful...

There was a waterfall falling freely right in front of us. Small silvered painted fish could be seen in the azure colored water, nibbling on moss. The lush green grass sparkled as the sun shone down on it. Tall lanky trees decorated the terrain, with their orange and yellow leaves puffed on top of them. Right beside the waterfall was a willow tree that was standing about 25 ft tall. Its long tendrils were almost touching the ground. The sight was astonishing!

"It's beautiful isn't it?" I snapped out of my thoughts to look at Rogue. Yellow and - just a smidge of green from the grass - highlights coated his childlike face, outlining almost every detail on his face.

I smiled, "Yeah... It's gorgeous."

"I usually came here if I was ever lonely or had a lot of things on my mind, or if I'm just in a need of meditation. It's what makes this place so special to me. If it ever went away, I don't know what I would do..." His eyes seemed to lose their color, as his gaze fell down.

I knew how he felt, I felt it myself. Ever since Mama died, I've been feeling lonely, never knowing what to do when I woke up for the day. She would usually greet me with a bright smile on her face that could outshine the sun itself. 'Good Morning Lucy' She would always say. It brought tears to my eyes just thinking about it...

I could hear Rogue sniffing the air around him. He looked down towards my legs,"You're bleeding."

I glanced at Rogue before looking down at my knee. My eyes widened a little, completely forgetting I scraped my knee when I tripped and fell. I sluggishly knelt down, putting my hand into the cool water, cupping it so it became a somewhat of a cup. I splashed water on my injured knee, wiping away at the dried blood and mud.

I noticed the sun going down, making a gold and purplish hue to envelope everything. Father will surely be mad if he found out that I entered the forest and came home so late. He would most likely lock me up in my room, only letting me out when dinner was ready. I shuddered at just the thought of that.

I sat up, wiping off the dirt that was on me. "I should get going, my father would get mad if he found out I was out here so late." He turned his head to look at me before he nodded his head. I started to walk away where my house was, feeling his gaze on me. I halted in my steps turning my head a little, speaking in the process, "It was nice meeting you Rogue."

Before I could even let him speak, I ran towards my house once again. Thinking about a certain mysterious black haired boy I met today...

I arrived at the Heartfilia Konzern when It was 6 PM at night. I got lost in the woods, not knowing which direction was which since I wasn't paying attention when I was running through the woods- Which led it to be late at night.

I looked around me, making sure no one was outside. Satisfied no one was out, I made my way towards the front door. I quietly opened the front, trying to not make a sound. As quickly as I could, I made my way towards my bedroom door that was on the second floor, but before I could ever make it, a familiar voice called out to me.

"Lucy? What are you doing out here! You know your father will get mad if he found you out here so late!" I turned towards the voice, to see a familiar face. Spetto - One of the Konzern's maids.

I faced the old short lady, twiddling my thumbs while my gaze was on the ground, "S-s-sorry Spetto I heard something downstairs, so I went to go check it out myself. Luckily, It was nothing..."

Spetto's eyes softened a little, while a sigh escaped her mouth, "Honestly child, you are just like your mother. Always getting yourself in trouble," Spetto smiled, "I'll let this slid this one time, but don't get used to it!"

I looked up at her, a wide smile plastered on my face, "Thank you Spetto! You're the best!" I ran towards her, giving the biggest hug I could. I could feel as her body shook as she chuckled.

"Now get to bed young one, we don't want your father knowing you're out this late." I nodded my head, quickly heading to my door.

"Night Spetto!" I whispered-yelled, before opening my door and closing it.

"Goodnight young Lucy."

I took a bath, brushed my teeth, and put on my pink and white checkered pajamas. I laid on the bed, trying to get comfortable. Satisfied, I shut my eyes ready for sleep to overcome me.

A certain crimson eyed boy flooded my mind as I fell into a peaceful slumber.
