Dean is the deciding factor, the one who'll either prevent the Apocalypse or let Lucifer reign free.
He doesn't want any part of it. He never did. How can he save the world, when he can't even save himself? What makes him so damn special?
But apparently God sees something in him, something that was worth pulling him out of the Pit for, and though he doesn't know what it is, Dean knows that he's been chosen. He has no choice in the matter.
It's time he faced up to who he really is.
