Welcome Home By: Shelby Sanders
Rex smiled at Ahsoka, "It's good to be home, Lil' Sissy." "Yeah, home sweet home. I'm craving steak,"Ahsoka answered. Cody appeared to the door of the Skywalker Kids' room, "Yo! I got reservations at Outback!" Rex smiled wider, "Awesome!" Cody nodded. Ahsoka walked into the bathroom and took off her shirt. She put on her dress she had pulled out. Rex knocked on the door, "What are you doing?" "What do you think?" Ahsoka answered. Rex shrugged, "I don't know. Just being protective, I guess." "Well, back off Rex!" Ahsoka growled.
Rex shrunk back. Cody laughed, "Wussy! Ha ha! You so stupid!" Rex smacked Cody in the face, "Shut up!" Cody stared at Rex. Rex stuck his tongue out and laughed. Cody smiled, "Yo, Ahsoka's out." Ahsoka stepped to the bedroom door. She started out of the house happily. Rex and Cody followed her to the car. They all got in. Rex drove them to the Outback. A peppy waitress showed them to their table. Cody sat on the end of the left side of the table. Rex sat on the opposite end. Ahsoka sat in the middle of the two boys. Ahsoka ordered a Caesar salad with ranch dressing. Rex couldn't help but copy her, Cody did the same. They ate in silence. Ahsoka glanced at a boy on the other side of the room, "Lux!"
Lux's eyes lit up, "Ahsoka!" Rex turned to the voice, "Who are you talking to?" Ahsoka popped Rex in the back of the head as Lux padded over. "Ahsoka, wow, you look nice," Lux said. Rex smiled, "Hello. I'm Rex. I believe you just addressed my sister." "Lux, this is my brother Rex," Ahsoka said, "And this is my cousin Cody." Lux waved, "Hello, Ahsoka, you never told me you had a family."
Ahsoka smiled, "Yes I did." "If you did, I probably forgot," Lux said. Ahsoka blushed, "Okay, sweetheart." Rex turned to Ahsoka, "You never told me about this kid. Isn't his mother a senator? A Separatist senator?" "Yes, my mother was a senator. She's passed on now," Lux answered. "Sit down, kid," Rex told Lux. Lux sat down beside Rex, "Okay."
"So tell me about Senator Bonteri," Rex said. "My mother was killed by Dooku, I wish I was there to save her. She was so nice, sweet, caring. I can't believe she's gone," Lux sighed, "She raised me after my father was killed in a Republic attack. He was setting up a base when clones attacked. I was just seven. It's been ten years since my father died. I wish I could've saved him." Rex felt like crying, "Lux, oh God. I'm so sorry. I didn't realize that the bullet I shot was at your father." "It's okay. You don't need to stress yourself. I forgive you."
Ahsoka passed Lux his steak. Lux stuffed a fatty piece into his mouth, "Thanks Ahsoka." Rex nodded, "Now, that's what I call the best medicine. Steak is the best medicine." Ahsoka and Cody laughed, "That's crazy." "For a time it is the best medicine, until we get old enough to get wasted!" Lux grinned. Rex laughed, "Ain't that about the truth!"
The End!
Happy Mother's Day, Momma!
I love you!
I'll do this for Daddy on Father's Day!
